I'm very happy with the performance of the fan which runs quietly and smoothly. The light with the recommended 3 40-watt bulbs isn't intensely bright, but is adequate at max brightness. This fan looks good in my 1950's ranch house, and is a big improvement over the old fan it replaced in that I don't have to yank on ugly chains any more. Installation tip: If you have another Hampton Bay fan w/ a remote, change the DIP switches before completing the installation if you want to control the fans independently. (Apparently, they all come from the factory with the same settings.)

Measured power consumption (with lights off): motor off, 10w. Low, 35w. Med, 40w. High, 45w. Not in specs.
Pros: Good quality, quiet, aesthetic design. It remembers settings when power turned off.
Cons: The expensive rare 12v battery for the remote is not included. Its three 40w incandescent candelabra bulbs are power-hogs.

After 2 years the blade arms bent downward and started scraping the light cover. Can't have the cover on it anymore. Parts are not warrantied, only the motor.

Had an electrician install it to replace an old fan. DOES NOT COME WITH SPECIALTY BATTERY!! Fan was installed, nice of company to include bulbs. Really needed the battery for the remote because you can't use or test the fan without it. After completing my quest for said battery, was dismayed to find that we now have a frequency conflict with a fan/light remote in another room. Now I'm on a quest to find the "dip switch receiver" in the fan so I can change the frequency. Apparently it is well-hidden, and tech support is too busy to help. The fan looks very nice hanging helplessly from my ceiling.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RAdeW Easy-clean sleek design
This fan is a low profile contemporary look and is perfect for rooms with lower ceilings. The brushed stainless steel fan motor housing is a sleek design which makes cleaning a breeze. I did the installation myself. It was fairly easy, as most of the screws were pre-installed. 3 incandescent energy hog candelabra bulbs were included. But I replaced them with 3 CFL lamps to improve energy efficiency. Overall, would recommend this fan.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by oatmeal Great fan, quiet operation
This is a great fan if you're looking for a flush mount with a unique modern look. The price is great considering how other modern-looking fans go for. The fan is quiet and the remote operates all the controls nicely.
The cons are that it uses candalabra bulbs, which don't put out as much light as I would prefer. The fan also cannot use switches to seperately control the fan from the light. So you only have one switch which turns things on/off and then you have to use the remote for everything. On the plus side, it will remember the last settings you had before you turned it off. The battery for the remote is also non-standard (A23), but my local Winn-Dixie carried it.
Very easy to install if you already have the electrical box. But in reality there is no reason why this light should be any more expensive than 'normal' fans. It has all the same components, just looks different.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by azras Excellent fan
This is a very sleek looking modern fan. The body is silver, but the blades are a little more gray than silver. But we love the way it looks and performs. We use it with the remote and it's simple. It gives off a good amount of light in our master bedroom. Our handyman installed it in less than 45 minutes. I would recommend this fan.

great looking, practically silent, even on high speed, good light from the lamp portion. I did not assemble or install-electrician handled that-no complaints, but I just can't give personal experience
