Looking for the measurement from the ceiling to the lowest point of the fan blades not including the light. Wanting to make sure I don't have a clearance issue with a door.

Answer:
The measurement from the ceiling to the lowest point of the fan blades not including the light is 11.5 inches (on mine). Based on that I would figure in some extra, maybe 13 inches. Eight foot walls minus the 11.5 inches, and a standard 81 inch door you have about 3.5 inches to play with, in theory.

Now that being said, "IF" you secured the fan to a board (2x6 or 2x8) and attached it to or across ceiling joists that would provide the balance and security needed. Then use a heavy duty extension cord secured to the ceiling to the wall. It would then work. If it were me and I were renting, I would use a floor tower fan. If it were my home I would run the wire (standard 12/3) from an outlet up in the wall fish it through the ceiling and box it the right way. However, not every one can do that. Good Luck, Hope this helps. Read Less

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by very beautiful. well designed. some challenges when assembling some of the assembly can be daunting/challenging. attaching the light to the base of the fan motor unit most notably; the amount of wiring, and other electrical components that you need to "cram" into the fan's motor base, in order to attach the light fixture, is the most-major negative when assembling the fan; there just (barely) enough room for all of the wiring to fit, and makes attaching the light to the bottom of the fan's base barely do-able. I also had to return the unit due to a high-pitched "whine" in the fan's motor when it ran on the Medium or High speeds (it seemed that the domed light unit accentuated (enhanced, made louder) the whine, August 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cool fan, with a tiny little light Fortunately when buying this I read the reviews and saw that the light was not very bright. I replaced another fan in my kitchen with this and had i not had the electrician add recessed lighting there is no way this fan would have worked. The light is good enough to get something out of the fridge when I'm watching tv, not anywhere close bright enough to cook with. That said, the fan is comically tiny but puts out a lot of air in my 15 x 10 kitchen, and it does look really good. As long as you are not expecting this thing to be the primary source of light I would highly recommend it for a small room. Finally I had an electrician put it in, so I have no idea if the install was hard or easy. It didn't take him long. May 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by love this little fan The color was not quite the color I needed, but it sure works great! the motor is built very well, and is quite heavy. It pulls the air from my window very well..that is what I wanted it for. It is a little lower than I thought, but it turned out ok. the only real flaws were the light cover is very fragile..make sure you lightly push out the prongs so you don't have force it in, possibly chipping or breaking it. But if you know what your doing it is not a huge issue. The other was the light is quite dim, due to one bulb in it, which again was not a huge issue because I have other lights to make up for it..But if you need good lighting for a whole room..this is not for you. It is a nice small size, I liked that as well. October 13, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good, but the light is very weak I was looking forward to this LED fan, but the lumen output is poor, it's more like a nightlight. April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small fan big results Perfect add to the changes in my kitchen. Small enough but provides good air circulation. Takes the edge off of the extra heat in the kitchen area. April 28, 2015
