Answer:
Fan direction switch is located on the bottom edge of the fan, so not a good option if placing on a high ceiling. The bulb type is a JD Type Mini-Candelabra

Answer:
Your reverse switch at the bottom of the switch housing is the only way to reverse the direction of your fan. Only original bulbs are available for this style light kit.

Answer:
You will need a Hugger fan or a fan that is flush mount adaptable. The Mondrian Fan is not a flush mount adaptable fan therefor it will hang too far down. Blades should be a minimum of 7 feet off the floor.

Answer:
Hi ConfusedFanBuyer, you must have 7 feet from the bottom of the blade to the floor.
The height of this fan is 16.89 inches. If you only have an 8 foot ceiling, then this fan hangs down to far.
You will need to get a true flush mount fan.

Answer:
You could customize the down rod length to any size. But, you will need to drill a hole through the end you cut-off in order to hold the metal piece that slides through diameter of the rod. Use a pipe cutter to cut the 3/4" down rod - and you will be fine.

Answer:
The downrod that comes with the fan is quite short resulting in a clearance between the fan blades and ceiling of only a few inches. Shortening the downrod should not be done. With a 10 ft. ceiling the downrod can be lengthened. Downrods of varying lengths are generally available. The Home Depot fan department has recommended downrod lengths for various ceiling heights.

Answer:
You can install this fan with the included 4.5" downrod, this will bring the fan down 15.43" so the bottom of the fan will be roughly at 8'7". Normally you need to have your blades around 7' from the ground and your blades will be much higher than that.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 57 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is the best fan - ever! Believe me. It is absolutely handsome; well made; very heavy and substantial looking. The remote control is an added benefit which controls the light and fan speeds. Blades are reversible. It is the retro-modern look that is so appealing. Easy to install with down-rod extension. Buy it - you will not regret it!!! October 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lots of light. Great Looking fan. There where a few wires to install that for the average "do it yourself" person would be ok. But if you are a first time fan installer please refer very closely to the instructions. The light is defiantly very bright. My only concern is that the fan is not as powerful for my kitchen. Time will tell. May 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Modern fan Fan looks like everything we had hoped for. Compared to our last Hampton Bay, this one doesn't blow as strong on the highest setting, but it's still good enough. September 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice fan with a drawback I bought this fan for appearance only. The design is nice and unique. I used a professional installer. The airflow is okay and the fan is quiet. However, the light is not bright at all. If you want to install this in an area that needs light, this fan is not for you. At its brightest, this fan fails miserably. If you need bright lights, look elsewhere. October 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very Modern and cute but has problems Used 4 times and bulb burned out and there pricy & above the bulb the plate had burn marks. Called and they are sending out another bulb and plate. Might be returning if it does it again with the new parts. Very cute would recommend if it didn't have the problem. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan for the price Just got it installed yesterday. Nice modern look. Like the dimmer. September 27, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor performance Looked very nice but the downward airflow was horrible, end up returning it. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Quiet Fan Very nice ceiling fan. Bright lighting and very quiet while the fan is running. September 14, 2016
