Answer:
Yes, you can. In the packaging with the fan, there is a phone number for extra parts or warranty items. I called that number and order a matching cover for the bottom. You will need the UPC code on the box to match the right color. I ordered two covers and it was $21 total including shipping

I don't recall that it has a cap to go in the place of the light. I seem to remember there was mention of an optional cap. You certainly don't have to wire up the light for the fan to run.

This fan only comes in a natural dark wood for the blades and dark brown color on the motor housing. The blades are a 2 tone wood look with lighter tone in the middle. I bought it with the white lights. I'm sure you could look for a different light or scone for the lights if you don't like the color.

You could probably purchase a different "globe" to go over the light. It would just need to have the same mounting dimensions. Or there may be a similar version that has three lights coming down from the fan.

I installed this ceiling fan with the light fixture about 3 years ago. They really compliment each other real nice. As I recall the light fixture comes in the same box as one item. I am sure you can find another light fixture that will fit nicely instead but I think it should be a Hampton Bay light so the plugs all fit instead of hard wiring the wires together.

I left the light off but had to improvise a little to make it look OK. The cover over the bottom of the fan has a hole once the light is removed and the chains are held in positions to clear the now missing light fixture and look a little funny but not bad. I plugged the hole with an adjustable chair/table leg - put the threaded part through the hole and used a nut to hold it.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 556 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loved it so much we bought 2! The first one we put in our bedroom the second one in our formal living room. My husband and I debated on putting a fan in the formal living room. He wanted a fan and I wanted "pretty" so I purchased a beautiful light fixture (bowl style) that had metal leaves and crystals and he figured out how to make it work! It's beautiful! So far it works great but it does make a low buzzing sound now, but it's not very loud. we have had it about 6 months. I know it is not going to be recommended but I thought you might like to know it can be done. My husband is a master electrician and it wasn't a problem with him. I really love it! April 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy purchase I am very pleased with the look of this fan. He was easy to install. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for the outdoor porch! We have a screened in porch and have been looking for a nice fan for a while. When this went on sale I had to get it. It fits in perfectly with our porch theme - sort of a tropical setting. Installation was fairly straight forward and went well. I had to build a cross member (see in my picture) to hang the fan from. I didn't see a drop rod option, but most fans that I have seen that are on drop extension rods tend to be a bit more wobbly so I wanted to stick to the stock length anyway. Once I had the cross member built and wired with the junction box the fan only took about 90 minutes to install. All of the parts fit together nicely and it has a very nice finished appearance and looks much more expensive than it was. It is dead quiet and runs very smoothly with no vibration even on high fan speed. The only thing you hear is the sound of the wind coming off the blades, which is a lot of air movement. The large blades move a great amount of air - it is about 10 feet off the ground and on high it blew out jar candles we had lit on a table below it. The CFL light that comes with it is not terribly bright, but just right. We didn't want a super bright light, just enough to add a bit of ambiance to the area. I would say it is about equivalent to a normal 40 watt bulb. I would definitely recommend this! May 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Back Patio Fans I was lucky enough to get this fan 44% off during the Spring Black Friday preview sale...what a steal! They look beautiful and perform flawlessly! They were easy for my husband to install and are a quality product. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great design and very quiet My cathedral ceiling is 14 ft. High. I put the fan on a 3 ft. Down rod. It was easy to assemble. I had to add a little more wire to accommodate the down rod. After it was assembled I climbed the ladder and wired it myself. Hooking this fan up high was a one person job because the company provided the right hardware. The fan moves the air around perfectly and there no noise from it, it's a quiet fan to operate. I hope to get many years of operation from it. The company should make the wiring harness longer to accomodate a down rod, other than that, again no complaints, it's a great fan. January 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice fan for the price Nice looking fan. goes together very easy. You need to purchase a remote separately which adds to the cost. Fan is not as quiet as it should be. It does have a constant hum so if your using it in a bedroom you may want to look for a better quality unit that will run quieter. Can not get it to balance out even using the balancing kit. Works fine for the living room area though. Slight wable that makes the chains clank so you will have to cut them off or listen to them. This fan does move a lot of air. May 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Fan but Installation difficult I wanted the fan for my screened in porch and love the look of it for an outdoor area. However, installation was very difficult because I had to use an extender because of the high ceiling. Holding a 50 lb fan up to a high ceiling while trying to wire it was difficult for 2 people to perform. There should be better and easier method of installation when using an extender rod. May 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fan with an attitude!!! The value was excellent as it was the value of the day purchase. I'd wanted this fan for a long time as I loved the tropical design. If that's what you're seeking, this is surely the right fan. Looks like a luxury fan. It is replacing one I bought many years ago and has been very squeaky for the last couple of years. This one is so quiet. I can't give any fan 5 stars for ease of installation, but this one isn't too bad. Overall I gave this 4 stars, but it should be 4.7 stars...the review program wouldn't let me do that. May 17, 2016
