The first one we put in our bedroom the second one in our formal living room. My husband and I debated on putting a fan in the formal living room. He wanted a fan and I wanted "pretty" so I purchased a beautiful light fixture (bowl style) that had metal leaves and crystals and he figured out how to make it work! It's beautiful! So far it works great but it does make a low buzzing sound now, but it's not very loud. we have had it about 6 months. I know it is not going to be recommended but I thought you might like to know it can be done. My husband is a master electrician and it wasn't a problem with him. I really love it!

I bought two of these fans for my patio/deck cover. They really add a touch of fun/tropical feel to the space. They've been working well at keeping the airflow and keeping the area bug and mosquito free.

The fan looks great on the porch. It was easy to install and is quiet. Was concerned about mounting on a slightly slanted beam but it worked out fine.

An eye pleasing product, fairly easy to install but quality control could use some beefing up. I bought two of these. The first one made a scratching noise post installation. I figured out that the fan blade mounting screws were too long and were scraping the motor housing. I removed the screws and added a thick lock washer to each eliminating the too long condition. Not quite perfect as I still hear an occasional scrape. The other one was quiet from the beginning - no washers required. Fan two wobbled and adding weights did not correct the situation. I opened it up again and realized I did not seat the keyed ball down rod completely into the slot. Problem fixed, my error. This one runs quiet and true. Pull switches on both fans feel cheap and pull awkward due to the manufacturer's offset loops to guide the chains away from the glass globes. There has got to be a better way to do this, but they haven't figured it out. So again, a nice looking product with OK quality, considering the price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Honeydoer Perfect for the outdoor porch!
We have a screened in porch and have been looking for a nice fan for a while. When this went on sale I had to get it. It fits in perfectly with our porch theme - sort of a tropical setting. Installation was fairly straight forward and went well. I had to build a cross member (see in my picture) to hang the fan from. I didn't see a drop rod option, but most fans that I have seen that are on drop extension rods tend to be a bit more wobbly so I wanted to stick to the stock length anyway. Once I had the cross member built and wired with the junction box the fan only took about 90 minutes to install. All of the parts fit together nicely and it has a very nice finished appearance and looks much more expensive than it was. It is dead quiet and runs very smoothly with no vibration even on high fan speed. The only thing you hear is the sound of the wind coming off the blades, which is a lot of air movement. The large blades move a great amount of air - it is about 10 feet off the ground and on high it blew out jar candles we had lit on a table below it. The CFL light that comes with it is not terribly bright, but just right. We didn't want a super bright light, just enough to add a bit of ambiance to the area. I would say it is about equivalent to a normal 40 watt bulb. I would definitely recommend this!
