We purchased 10 of the Copper 6x6 solar posts caps, which were costly, exceeding $20 each. They were easy to assemble, and illuminated a bright light for 4 to 6 hours in late evenings. The copper tone began to tarnish in less that 6 months, and the lights no longer work, although we have replaced the rechargeable batteries several times.The finish after less than a year is discolored with a black and rust like appearance. There is no cleaning agent to remove, or restore the caps to the original color. The Hampton label gives a no rust guarantee, which is misleading since the caps are made of a plastic and non -metal material. We have removed all of them from our deck and regret having expended such an amount of money on a product which offers no TRUE guarantee. Unless you want to splurge on a short timed satisfying item as these, we would not suggest you purchase them.

bought these 4 years ago. copper finish has deteriorated. plastic base tan color faded in one year to an ugly pinkish color. the only ones that still look nice are under the eaves. live in Minnesota so sun is not that intense. need a lot of sunlight charging time. not mych help in winter months even though i clear the chargers from snow regularly.

I like the looks of the light and for the price I did not think is was to bad. The only problem I have with the light is the plastic glass is yellowing and starting to look a little ugly. Would not but again

I purchased 4 lights to replace those which were looking old after 10 years of continuous use(without replacing the batteries). Three are working beautifully; however, the fourth flickers & goes out. I will be returning this defective one for replacement. Although rather expensive, I would certainly recommend this higher quality light.

I wrote a review of this product when I first bought it about a year ago. After one year and having to return one of them right away because it would not work, I have to say, my opinion of this product has gone down. . .way down. One quit working last winter, the plastic is broken on another and they, generally make me depressed when I look at them! I wish I had just skipped putting lights on the posts! I spent over $15,000.00 dollars on this project and $100.00 worth of lights have ruined it!

I bought14 caps about 3 years ago and they are attractive and let off a nice glow in the dark. It is only about .it is only few months ago that 3 went out. I live in NW Montana with very severe weather so that is a pretty good life for them I think. Even in the darkest and snowiest days they still absorb enough light to glow at night. Don't bother replacing the batteries when they go out. I tried a few different types and they just don't work, you need to replace then whole unit.

BAD CHOICE, I bought 3 of these lights and none, I repeat NONE of them worked. I bought 12 batteries to check that it wasn't the batteries fault. It wasn't. I guess the Home Depot doesn't take the time to check their product. I'd be embaressed to stock this product by Hamption Bay. I hope they will refund my purchase for the full amount, since I have to drive 100 miles to get to a Home Depot. Don't get me wrong I will stil shop the Home Depot but not for this brand.

I purchased 8 of these to top off a new deck finished for a family reunion. From the start, only 3 worked and all the instructions were followed to a T. I couldn't believe it! We messed around w/ them for a week--new batteries, turn off for 2 MORE days, and turn them on--and the 5 just wouldn't work. I called the help line this morning and am sending them back and ordering 5 new ones. I really like the looks of the lamp and hopefully, these new ones will work.
