These glass lights are so much brighter than the plastic ones, so much prettier! I bought 2 boxes of these, one light only won't light. I'm not sure if it's the battery or what, but the rest stay on all summer night! I just put them out a week ago and I LOVE them! Beautiful light pattern, easy to put together after you read the instructions....

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by YardFanatic Great look for the price, replace the batteries
Love these lights, but the batteries they ship with them are junk. That's everyone's complaint, but nobody has actually suggested changing out the batteries. They're a very low capacity battery, that's why they won't "hold a charge" or "last more than 2 hours". Throw in a capacity battery and you'll be much happier with your results. IIRC, the ones that come in the box are only like 300-400 mAh, which isn't that much at all. Get some 1200+ mAh and even a higher voltage battery if possible, I promise the lights will last longer. Sure, your overall cost will be higher, but these are made out of metal and glass, not plastic like most are. You get what you pay for. These look great in my yard, I love them. Invest in good batteries and you'll love the look of these in your yard, I'm actually looking to get more to complement the rest of my house.

Even after going through the two week charging cycle, these lights do not last more than two hours. Complete waste of money and would not recommend these to anyone.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DavidV Excellent lamp for about $10 each.
All metal with a glass lens is difficult to find. The glow from a glass lens is much better than that from a plastic lens. In fact, the only part that is plastic is the ground penetration spike. I have a couple of recommendations when using this or any other stake-type pathway light:
Assemble with adhesive. If you must remove the lamp from the ground, the spike stays attached.
Rechargeable lamps come with cheap batteries from China. One year in the ground is about 365 charge-discharge cycles, and is a lot to ask from a cheap battery. Rechargeable batteries such as Enelope will last three times as long.

I was not sure what type of lighting to purchase. I wanted a bright light but something attractive. I was disappointed when I first opened the box and saw you had to put them together but needless to say it was so very easy and once we put them in the ground they looked beautiful. I could not wait until it got dark so we could see how well they lite our walk way. We were very impressed, the glass disperses the light in a radiant design. We went back and bought 2 more boxes and placed them across the front of the house. Well worth the money!!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Allie Surprisingly beautiful!
Based on previous reviews I was reluctant to buy these. I am glad I decided to give them a shot. Easy to assemble. The copper finish looks very sharp. The lights do their job in illuminating my front walk and the glass creates a sunbeam pattern which is very attractive.
My only complaint is that the ground spike fits very loosely in the sleeve. If you try to adjust the post the spike falls out and then it's a pain to dig it out of the ground. So just make sure you have the locations mapped out to avoid moving them.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Silvy Look great BUT lights do not hold a charge.
Hampton Bay usually means quality, right? These lamps will NOT charge during the day. Since the first week I put them in the ground this past summer, they have not lit at night. What a waste of money !!! They "look" great, but THAT IS ALL. They are not in the least bit functional. I highly recommend you pass these up.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Babou NOT stainless steel where it counts.
Stem is cheap plastic which breaks easily and apparently there are no replacement parts. I bought 18 of these and several are now useless. Copper coating corrodes rapidly. I'd recommend If you can deal with these faults. they cast a beautiful, star-shaped pattern on walks.
