is there an AC converter made that will power this instead of using the battery pack?

I do not get enough sun exposure in the winter months for it to charge the batteries to last all night so was wanting to use a photocell / power converter until summer.

How far can you stretch the cord?

I want this to light under a deck so I want to place the sun panel above it. I'll need some length to do so and the coil of the image worries me.

Outdoor Black Solar 3-LED Flag Light is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 62.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish Accent Light This seemed like a neat way to light my flag at night without adding more wiring to my landscape lighting, and is actually a unique product that makes flag lighting an easy DIY project without having to mess with wiring. As you can see in the picture, the light is plenty bright, but provides a somewhat narrow wash of light that acts more like an accent light than a flood. I was somewhat surprised and intimidated by the amount of hardware included, but quickly realized this is only because of the variety of installation types possible without needing any additional mounting hardware. You can mount both the light and the solar panel, which are connected by a coiled wire that is roughly 6" long and expands to about 2', on either the flagpole or a wall. If you choose to mount on the flagpole, you have the option of either mounting in a single location with one device on either side, or in separate locations using the included backer brackets. I chose to do the latter, affording me maximum flexibility to put the solar panel and the light in optimal positions without requiring drilling into the exterior wall of my house. The brightness and color temperature of the light are great, and the light is very even across its narrow wash. I would like to see a model with a wider lens and some sort of frosted diffuser to spread the light over a wider area. I also think it would be nice to have a two-pack with a single solar panel and two lights on telescoping offsets to allow lighting both sides of a flag evenly. But for the price, it is hard to beat the ease of installation and appearance of this light, and I am not aware of any alternative on the market.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lacks Proper Mounting Hardware Proper display of old glory requires night time illumination! So, I gave this a try. I have a 25' 1 1/4 diameter flagpole mast. The screws that came in the hardware package might fit up to a 1/2 inch in diameter flag pole. I purchased longer screws to slide thru the plastic mounting kit and then was able to properly mount this assembly. The lighting is mediocre to good, of course depending on how far down the pole you mount this light to shine on your flag. Unit seems to charge properly and last all night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as advertised and cannot be beat for the price If I read the other reviews I would not have bought this however I did no research and just got it on an impulse buy. I bought this the day before Memorial Day, on the holiday I hung the flag and forgot about the light until 2pm. I removed the battery strip and put it in the sun until dusk. At dark it did not work until I twisted the plug in the socket a bit to make a good connection, since it has stayed lit dusk to dawn as advertised. Assembly was easy and customizable, I wish the connection cord from the solar collector to battery was longer and not spiraled but it works and costs less than lunch at a fast food restaurant. That’s my experience and cool story. Sid

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't Last It didn't hold up for more than a few months. The plastic would slip on the flagpole thus getting to sunlight to the solar panel. Then it just stopped working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks like good value for the price. It took 5 minutes to install this product , no tools were need , I installed it on an existing flag pole that was mounted on the front of my home . I only needed a ladder to reach the flag pole . I checked it the first night after it was installed , and it is working perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent flag light For such a small solar lamp, it emits a good and powerful light considering it has only three L.E.D's. Very easy to put together and is well designed and sturdy. Battery is easily changed if necessary. I used mine to attach to our flag pole and had no issues whatsoever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Than For Flags I am using this as a spot light for an area of my fishpond that you normally can't see after sundown. I have them attached to a tall lansdcappers hook decoration near the pond. The rocks and area I am illuminating is about 10' away and the light is pretty diffuse at that point, but it is bright enough to see the features. I am particularly pleased with the mounting apparatus, it was flexible enough to allow this. You can also wall or flat mount them with provided screws if needed. The small profile and black color make them inobtrusive and not an eyesore. I am intending to buy some more for some other dark spots I would like to highlight that the corded connection between the light and solar panel will allow me to do because I need to go around a corner to get the panel in the sun. The area I have this mounted in is partially shady but the unit still gets enough power to last for several hours after dark which is 11 to 12 o-clock around here.
