How to turn it on? Is it "auto"?

I just bought six of these lights. I looked at the instructions and do not understand the part how to turn it on or off. I do not know these are "auto switch" or not, since there is no indication on the light or the instruction. I pressed the white plastic button several times, but there is no effect. The diagram in the back of the light is confusing. The looks of "on" and "off" positions are not very much different other than the width of the "button". If it is "auto on and off", then why is there this diagram? Attached please find the picture of the back of the light. I am placing them now under the direct sun light and wonder whether they will work. Thanks for your help.

The little lever does slide to an on postion. It is maybe only a quarter inch but I could really feel it slide . i did not have any instructions with mine. Just turned it upside down and saw the little switch.

Will these work if shaded by oak trees?

Asked by: Can
I doubt it. Because of their need to have at least 6 hours of sun hitting that solar panel unless there is a spot like that don't waste your money.

When will these lights be back in stocK?

These lights are perfect for the garden and have performed perfectly. However, I need more. When will they be available?
Asked by: Mike
I think if you say had a path and pointed the lights inwards and the panel was facing out , preferrably south to maxmize sunlight, then these are cute and I got mine online and had it shipped to a close store. Took less than a week. I think they are available right now to purchase and ship this way. They must be scattered around cause I could not have them shipped to home , only my store.

Outdoor Clear LED Solar Rock Light is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good choice for a small spotlight. I use this unobtrusive and inexpensive little solar light to softly illuminate our house number which is painted on a rock near the end of the driveway. It does this job perfectly. If you don't need to throw a bright light, or to illuminate a large area, this well-made product may be just right for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very bright! These solar rock lights are extremely bright. I purchased 4 last year for my patio area and decided to buy 4 more to place in my garden. I highly recommend these lights as an accent outdoor piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great inexpensive LED solar light Since I put this inexpensive LED solar light under the small tri-palm it has worked just fine to illuminate the Christmas wreath on the front door. I just may leave it in place after the decorations are taken down.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too small The four rock lights were so small that the illumination was limited and couldn't be aimed to light up the plants in the raised flowerbed in which I placed them.

I love the look of this solar light but it has a fatal design flaw. The solar panel in on the opposite side of the light and at a 90 degree angle. What this means is , I had it placed facing east to light an entranceway and so the panel was facing west. Even though I pulled it out so it would not be shadowed by the house as the sun came up in the east, it still was not enough for the light to last longer then a couple hours once the sun went down. So, by noon it was getting sun and the setting sun faced it full on but especially now with a shorted day it is not enough to power it up. Even if it was rotated it doesn't matter and that would defeat the purpose of lighting a door walkway as it would have shone off in a shrub. Ideal placement would be on top with a level surface so at least it could get more morning sun and up til midday. unfortunately too I bought a pair of the stronger lights by this company and the placement is still curved on the backside so the one is only going for an hour-like this one did. This is a design fatal flaw. If you want a solar light get one that has the panel on the top and a flat surface to soak up as many rays as possible all day. There is one here . I am discouraged and probably won't try after this but it is the name of the battery company , it is a better design. Some review mentioned it looked cheap but this looks like resin too -the only difference is better placement of the panel and it appears grey and these are mottled brown. These are a great idea but no matter which way you turn it the sun is only going to hit that panel about a fourth of the day. Especially now with winter and short days. Try the one with the panel on top.
