Answer:
It says that if you spill something to get it up quickly. With that being said I left scrap out in the rain for 5 months before hauling them to the city dump. The flooring was not deformed in any way. I would not put it in my bathroom or kitchen but have heard of people putting it in their kitchen. I used ceramic tile in my bath and kitchen.

Answer:
This product is not waterproof. Spills should be wiped up promptly. A joint sealant could be used during installation for an added layer of protection against moisture.
Consider using a Luxury Vinyl Plank, such as model HLVT3030, to have the look of wood but the resistance to moisture that you desire.

It can be used on staircase but be mindful that because of the shiny piano finish it is slick and slippery which could cause not to loose their footing. Other than that it's beautiful and the stair nosing should screw right it with no problem

Answer:
Yes. Laminates can be installed on staircase. It must be secured with liquid nail and if it has attached foam underlayment, it must be removed first. For detailed installation instruction, please contact Home Legend Technical department at 877 630 1800

Answer:
I see no reason it can't be used on the staircase. Please note that the piano finish will make it slick/slippery which would be the only con I can think of. Other than that, the stair nosing should screw into it well.

Hello anonymous and thank you for your question.
This laminate flooring can create a slip/trip hazard on stair surfaces since it is a floating floor. So I spoke to the Technical Department at Home Legends who told me that you can install the laminate flooring on a staircase for treads and risers - provided you follow these instructions.
1. Remove any underlayment from the bottom of the laminate plank.
2. Glue the plank using one of the following products (follow the respective manufacturer instructions when using the adhesive): construction adhesive, liquid nails, wood glue, or a glue that does not expand when it is sets.
3. Reinforce the plank by nailing 1-1¼” brads (countersink then fill with matching wood putty).

Pacific Cherry 8 mm Thick x 5 in. Wide x 47-3/4 in. Length Laminate Flooring(13.26 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great experience and love my new laminate floor. We purchased this laminate flooring a week ago and once I got started it was easy to put down. I'm a 73 year old woman and the only problem was my knees hurt during application . I don't know how it will wear yet, but it doesn't seem to scratch easily. I will purchase flooring for one of my other rooms after paying for this.

We selected laminate instead of hardwood because we have two dogs and felt this surface would resist scratches better than hardwood, so far it seems to hold up well to dog traffic. However, it is very slippery for them. The appearance is good and looks like wood when looking straight down on it. We are installing about 1200 ft2 and have about 2/3 of it installed. We have found a little damaged product in the packages, but not much. It cannot easily be scored and broken, so plan on sawing (We didn't try using a vinyl shear). It is not as easy to install as they make it look on DIY TV. It is not real difficult, but does require a lot more fusing around than just "snap & lock" look is shown in videos. Each plank has to be tapped on the surface with a rubber mallet to get it to lay flat and lock in place. This is not mentioned in the factory instructions. The instructions aren't particularly good. You should do some research on installation, if you are new to installing laminate. The waste allowance is understated unless you are doing just one square of rectangular room. We are doing one entire level of the house, the offset of rooms and hallways cause more waste. We used three different lengths: full, half and one-third based shown on a recommended pattern, we found. IF I did it again, I would use four lengths, so that there is three planks between adjacent end joints instead of two. Overall it seems to be a good product for the money. We'll know more after it has been down for a while. .

We opted to replace wall-to-wall carpeting with this product on slab floors. It's held up well enough that when a couple of bedrooms were ready for updating we again turned to this product. Good sheen, durable. We're very happy with it.

The instructions indicated that these boards do not have to be acclimated prior to using. I placed the boxes in the space I was going to install them into the night before anyway. The first two boxes I opened were fine and I alternated using boards from the two boxes as recommended. When I opened the third box, I noticed a slight flaw in the surface of the first few boards. I opened the fourth and fifth box and there were more boards with the same flaw. It appears as a line of discoloration running almost a third of the board. I set these aside and continued to use the other boards. Since the room I was working in was anything, but square, I was forced to make a lot of cuts. I was able to use these flawed boards for most of the cuts. As I continued, it became apparent to me that the lot where these boxes came from had this flaw. I realize the instructions is to not continue installing and to return the boxes, however, I was committed to doing the installation and was not able to wait for the return shipment and the reshipment. I was able to basically ignore the flaw that became less of an issue as the project continued. The room was only about 150 sq. ft, but I ordered another 10%. I ended up with a box of 7 boards with the most flaws. I am hoping I don't need to replace any of these in the near future. I may end up sending those back, but I am not sure I would receive any credit for them, since the box is open. You can be the judge as you look at the pictures of the finished room. Again, the room is not square. I followed the line from the hall way coming into the room, so entering from the hall, the lines continue in a straight line. An entry from the kitchen parallels the hall so it doesn't look too bad. It's when you are in the room and look, it appears the lines run in a diagonal to the walls. Still, I would use this product again. it was pretty easy to work with, although if you have to cut along the length, you might want to consider using a table saw instead of the jig saw I used. Thank God for moulding. The only other issue I have is the transition piece takes almost 3 weeks to arrive. Go figure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Floor! BUT!!! We had this floor installed a year ago. It is very beautiful and durable. Ended up with only a couple "wrinkled" edges but a fine job for a continuous 1200ft install. BUT.. I will agree with the one bad review posted here. This is a VERY high gloss piano finish flooring. If you have a lot of natural lighting as we do, it will show EVERY footprint, speck of dust, sand, etc. That's what you get for the beauty of it. A lot of cleaners will leave a haze on it and we are still currently trying to find one that suits the use. We even bought a Shark (junk BTW). Overall we are very happy with it. I think the horrible review must have changed from carpet and never realized how much dirt is actually brought in from outside.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very soft laminate, manufacturer doesn't stand behind product We were very excited to get our High Gloss Pacific Cherry by Hampton Bay/Home Legends flooring. The excitement soon turned to disappointment in the flooring. We purchased laminate because of the supposedly durability. I would classify Hampton Bay/Home Legends flooring as very soft. After only three months we have 38 little dings throughout the house. Home legends sent one of "their" inspectors out to inspect the flooring. Claim came back denied. Wished I would have read some previous reviews that warned that Home Legends will not stand behind their product. We purchased a cheaper laminate flooring from Home Depot about 5 years ago for the downstairs den and it still looks great, no dings or anything. The cheaper laminate is far superior to the more expensive Home Legends that we purchased. I hope this review helps someone else from making the same mistake that we made. We are saving up to replace this 3 1/2 month old flooring but we will be steering clear of Hampton Bay/Home Legends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Flooring, but... I love the finish and look of this flooring. It was pretty easy to install, BUT... The quality control of this flooring is horrible. I had to reject more than 15% of a 1200 SF floor due to manufacturing defects. I'm hoping HD will accept a return for a replacement. Like other reviewers have said, when laying the floor, inspect every piece before you put it down. Most of my rejects were due to a heavy industrial grease smudge that appeared to be baked on. Usually, the grease was accompanied by scratches to the finish. Minor grease marks could be cleaned off with a lot of effort - scrubbing hard with a soft cloth and Varsol - then alcohol and water to remove the Varsol. Other defects included separation of the top lamination at some corners. Do not count on the advertised trim molding to actually match. It won't. It's a different finish (not as hard and is much more prone to chipping), a different substrate, and a different color. The stair nose molding is particularly troublesome because it wasn't designed for use with this floor (even though the product says so). The stair molding is designed for flooring that does not use a pre-attached foam backing, which this flooring has.
