I called one store and they said they do not assemble. I called a larger city location and they said they would assemble for free, but that it might take a week or two after they received it in the store.

Check the Use and Care Guide for a PDF of the Assembly Guide. Basically everything is separate and needs to be assembled. Plan 6 hours for assembly, and it may only take you 4.

Nothing is assembled. You will need to put the chairs and table together. I did read one review where the person had the table shipped to their local store and the store assembled and delivered but not sure if all stores will do that. I assume there would be a cost involved.

I noticed the 7 piece set has motion chairs. These seem to be the same chairs with the 9 piece set but the description does not specify.

Answer:
The chairs are quite comfortable for relaxing/lounging. They rock gently (which concerned me, because the rocking is due to two pieces of metal flexing, not a hinged mechanism. However, trying to sit up to eat food at the table is quite uncomfortable - unless you like a good ab workout!

No the chairs are not stack-able.
You can use any standard chair cushion that is seat dimensions: 20 in. D x 21 in. W x 4 in. thick, Back dimensions: 24 in. D x 21 in. W x 4 in. thick. The seats are real conformable without any seat cushion.

Do the feet of the chairs and the table have protective pads? Plastic or metal? I'm concerned about them damaging the patio (wood or composite).

Cut a slit in a tennis ball and place it over the protective pads/bottom portion of chair leg. The above mentioned should protect wood or composition decking.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 58 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceeded Expectations Great set. The chairs could use just a bit more attention to the weaving but overall very pleased with this purchase. The tiles were not broken or chipped...did experience a little bit of an issue with the screws as mentioned in other reviews but overcame it. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice, takes about 1 day to assemble The box of 4 table tiles arrived shattered, we called for replacements. That box was very heavy, I'll bet 150+ lbs. Takes a full day to assemble, get a set of metric sockets, nut drivers work best, don't over tighten or you will strip the aluminum threads. MUST - Lube all the threaded holes with grease, this is a must as they are aluminum threads and will gall if not lubed, once lubes the bolts worked fine, no problems at all. Two of the chairs are a bit bow-legged but they flatten out when you sit in them. They are very comfy and have a nice little bouncy rocking action to them. Took two weeks to deliver, hoping the replacement tiles come sooner, and not broken. All in all would definitely recommend this set. June 30, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful set but with major hiccups! We ordered the set with free delivery to our home. 4 weeks later we were still trying to get tracking info from Home Depot because our packages never arrived. After going through one third party carrier that used another third party carrier they tracked 3 out of 4 boxes. A week later they delivered 3 boxes (the chairs and the tiles for the table). I put together all of the chairs which took me several hours. Not difficult but a little cumbersome for one person. A few days later they located my fourth box and delivered it the next morning. I put the whole table together in about 2 hours by myself. I opened the box of tiles and started to lay them into the table and the very last tile was smashed on delivery. I contacted Home Depot and after 4 days have just learned that the tiles are on back order and I won't receive for at least a month. So I have an expensive set on my patio where 1/4 of the table is unusable. Needless to say i am majorly ticked off. I do love the set and it is beautiful. Delivery service was terrible and getting my replacement part is even worse. June 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gorgeous well made outdoor patio table & chairs! I ordered this gorgeous table only by seeing the pictures and by other happy customers. Everyone was so right. It's a gorgeous tile top, beautifully designed with 8 bouncy rattan chairs with lumbar pillows. Only complaint was assembly so I had it delivered to my closest Home Depot and they assembled it for free and delivered it for free. It's a one of a kind find and would recommend to anyone. It's on my patio near my pool and not only fits 8 but you can pull other chairs up to accommodate 12. April 7, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful collection I would have given this 5 stars but we received the leg brace frame and it looked like it had been sawed in half on one side and the table top frame was bent. I called the Customer Service number on the instruction manual and was told I would receive the replacement parts in 7-10 business days, which would have been great, only when I called again 10 business days later after not receiving anything, the Hampton Bay warehouse didn't think to inform its customer service reps that they had run out of packing material and would be delaying any shipments. So not too happy about that but things happen. Getting to the actual product - the chairs are awesome! They were not hard to put together although all the parts that should be nicely sealed were all over the place but luckily all pieces were there. It's much easier to knock this out with two people, each one putting a base together and then working together to get the actual seat on. It will go 100 times quicker if you use a ratchet instead of the supplied tools. The chairs are very comfortable and the rocking motion just adds to it. The lumbar pillows are a very nice touch as well. Although I haven't been able to put the table together yet until I get my replacement pieces arrive, it looks to be easy although I have read all the other reviews about the issues with the screws. We will be using WD-40 as directed in many of the reviews so hopefully it goes together with no issues. The stone tiles are beautiful but very heavy. Definitely two people needed to install the tile to make sure they don't break. Very much looking forward to enjoying this table. It's the perfect size for our large family get-togethers. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice comfortable chairs, that rock. Easy to clean. Table is sturdy and looks great. Easy to assemble. Weave type chair finish that is flexible and comfortable. Chairs have a rocking function which adds to the sitting experience. The lumbar pillows really do work . The ceramic table top is sturdy and looks great. Easy to clean and should hold up in the weather. Easy to assemble and I am pleased with the quality of the materials. So far so good ! May 20, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great set; assembly a nightmare I have a love-hate relationship with this patio furniture. I love the finished product; I hate the assembly. The assembly is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. ASSEMBLY: The set comes well packaged. Every piece is protected with bubble wrap so they don’t scratch each other in transit. The 4 tiles that make up the table top come in one very heavy box, and I was relieved there were no cracks or chips in any of the pieces. My biggest complaint (which is consistent with other reviews you’ll read here) is that about 8 of the locknuts they included seized up on me as I was tightening them. By the time I noticed the resistance, it was too late to back it off, so I ended up having to cut the bolts off with my grinder. There are no extra bolts/nuts included so I had to go to the store to buy more. It’s possible that Hampton Bay would have replaced them, but it wasn’t worth the wait to have them mailed. Another complaint is that the directions, while better than some other products I’ve assembled in my life, lack sufficient written directions. There are a couple times it basically says (in nicer words) “just look at the diagram and do what is pictured.” Diagrams are definitely helpful, but they should accompany detailed written instructions. On my very first chair I put a piece on upside down attempting to copy the diagram. When I finished the chair and sat in it I knew something wasn’t quite right, but it took me a while to figure out where I made the mistake, and ended in more bolts being cut off. The table was an easier assembly. Everything went smoothly and all the tiles fit in place nicely. FINISHED PRODUCT: As I stated above, I love this patio set! As frustrating as the assembly was, I would do it all over again if I had to. Believe it or not, I even REBUILT MY DECK (see attached pictures) to accommodate this extra large set! The chairs are big, comfortable, and they rock which is nice. Personally I hate patio chairs that require cushions - too much of a headache keeping them clean and bringing them inside before it rains - this set has only small lumbar pillows which are not necessary for every day use. I’ll probably only put them out once in a while when we have guests over. The table is very large so there’s no fighting for elbow space, and leaves plenty of room in the middle for serving dishes, condiments, etc. As much as I love this set, I do have a couple complaints (aside from the assembly): 1) The chairs don’t tuck nicely under the table due to the design of the table supports. Only the first six inches or so of the chairs fit under the table so the set takes up a lot of space when not in use and finding a cover that will stretch over the whole thing isn’t easy. 2) The chairs don’t stack. I would prefer to store them indoors in the winter, but they’d take up way too much space. Hopefully the winter isn’t too harsh on them…time will tell. In summary, I would recommend this set IF you can handle a very frustrating assembly AND you have plenty of space on your deck/patio. May 8, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Made in China I received 4 HEAVY boxes (together over 400 lbs.) and unpacked the table first. It was well packaged and every piece wrapped in bubble wrap. Being that well packaged it is clear that all the scratches in the powder coat did not happen during transport but rather in the factory before packaging. The scratches very likely happened before they baked the powder coat because cured powder coat is hard and scratch resistant. In some areas the powder coat is actually wiped off. I started to assemble the table and, using a little force here and there, assembly wasn't a problem - until I tried to lay in the fourth tile, which wouldn't fit in. I tried different tiles in various locations until I finally found the one position in which all tiles fit. When I started to unpack the also well packaged chair pieces I noticed the same scratches as on the table. Assembly is fairly easy and with a little bit of bending everything fits well. The chairs are comfortable and the cushions make it even nicer. In the assembled state the scratches are not that obvious anymore and the whole set looks nice from a distance. If you really get what you paid for is questionable. I highly recommend using a little bit of WD40 on the screws before you put on the self locking nuts, otherwise the nuts will seize on you. Also do yourself a favor and use some real tools and not what comes in the package. You will need one 10mm wrench and two 13mm wrenches. The whole unpacking and assembly process will take you a full day if you are doing it alone. I assembled only 4 of the 8 chairs for now. January 26, 2014
