Answer:
You will only need about 10-15 lbs of LavaGlass and we recommend placing it over the lava rock. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at 1.866.771.2663 Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PST, or by email at Happy2Help@Bondmfg.com. Have a great day!

Answer:
Hi Steve, we just bought the pit and a 25lb bag of fire glass and it fills it nicely. The bag was about $80 so I was glad we didn't need another, but later I might consider adding a half bag or so for a little more filling on the edges. I just posted a review with a few pics if you'd like to see how it looks.

Hello Connie, this unit is crafted to operate with propane only. We do manufacture fire pits as well, and recommend checking with your local Home Depot in regards to the inventory. Have a great day!

Check with the manufacturer, however I would not think so as the diameter and depth of the bowl are not very wide or deep (built for gas).

You should contact your local Fire Marshal about how these devices can legally be operated. If this device does cause a fire and you are at fault for misuse your insurance company may not cover your claim.

Answer:
I don't know why that would be be problem. The unit is light weight and doesn't create sparks like a wood fire. I wouldn't go too close to a railing but otherwise I would think it should be fine.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 96 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pay no attention to the picture The picture is completely inaccurate. Every "stone" is the same color. It is solid brown which makes it look like cheap plastic. There is no variance in color at all. VERY disappointed. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Fire Pit I was not sure what to expect from this product but this product has been a hit with the husband and family! Well built and attractive! Lots of fun to use on our deck. January 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely pleased I did a lot of research before selecting this fire pit. This one had very good reviews and was one of the most reasonably priced ones available. I liked that there was very little assembly needed. I took the advice of other reviewers and bought the blue fire glass and am very happy with that choice. Be aware though, that the 25lb bag costs about $80 so figure that into your budget for the fire pit. The look is beautiful. The size is perfect. I also purchased a higher quality cover for about $30 and would recommend that as well. We use the lesser quality cover that came with the fire pit to cover the propane tank. Will try to post a few pics of our family night using the fire pit. November 9, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Adorable, cozy fire pit! We weren't sure how this fire pit would work out on our rooftop patio (3 walls, no ceiling), but so far so good! I give 4 out of 5 stars mostly because the propane tank seems to not last very long - I mean we did have it on continuously for 5 or so hours on Thanksgiving, but the flame went down considerably by the end, which was disappointing. But for the price we are happy and look forward to beautiful nights under the California stars! December 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value Purchased this as a Christmas gift to our son. Perfect for a deck or patio. Easy to setup and has a good flame. Looks very nice also. December 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average fire pit Plastic fire pit with too small of a fire ring. It should have several rings or a swiveled ring to cover more of the area. Very little heat given, it is more for ambiance than warmth. Additionally, there is not enough lava rocks as other customers have noted, so the company should add more since they know it's a problem. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fire Pit We bought this in October for a party we were having. It was a perfect addition. We sat around it on a cold night toasting marshmallows and having great conversation. It kept us plenty warm and people seemed to migrate from the house to the patio because of the pit. We used it again in front of our house on a very cold Halloween night for folks to warm themselves while out. We got many compliments about it. One family came back over to find out where we got it. We are very pleased with the pit. It was easy to set up, easy to move and very easy to use with no mess. It looks great and puts out a great amount of heat. December 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Favorite fire pit purchase by far. Great price! This fire pit is the perfect size at 36" round. Easy to set up. Box was big and pit needed 2 of us to lift. Lighting it is similar to lighting the grill. Push ignition and a propane tank. Only drawback is you need to hide tank. My tank sits off the patio which is lower than the pit. So it's not an eyesore. Pit gives off good heat for size. You can adjust flame size to accommodate heat level and flame level.. Looks great on a paver patio. May 9, 2015
