CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Unique looking fan with LED lights I live in Los Angeles, and while I just installed a new central air system, I was wanting to put ceiling fans throughout my house in an effort to improve both days in which I use AC and not. I recently purchased the Windward 2 and Windward 3 fans for most of my bedrooms. I opted to use this fan over the breakfast/nook extra kitchen area.... First, this replaced an older, wooden fan that was on it's last legs. This is a quality built fan, with a unique design that's very reminiscent of the front of an airplane propeller. The remote is more basic than the Windward 2 and Windward 3 fans, also by Hampton Bay / King of Fans. This fan moves less air, but is still a heavy motor and a unique design. The LED lights are great to an extent. I mean, they turn on quick (no warm up needed like a fluorescent). And they are only 7 watts. However, they just don't put out enough light for me to really enjoy the workspace area of the kitchen. So, it's a great fan, with a great motor and a different look, but it loses points on the so-so LED light kit (points for using new technology) and the less efficient blade design. The end result is a fan that's an interesting conversation piece, but is not the most efficient fan or the most efficient lighting for a smaller room. It does generate curiosity, but I wouldn't want it for a bedroom as a primary light source and definitely not to do extensive cooling. The three blades, shorter reach, and heavy motor do generate breeze, but not as efficiently as some other models. May 14, 2009
Rated 3 out of 5 by Looks great but noisy! I love the look of the fan and the remote makes life easier (lazy). The one thing that is annoying about it is that it makes a slight noise every once in a while. May 9, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Looks Good But Is But Is Bad As A Fan This is like dating a very attractive girl who has a mediocre too poor personality. This fan looks great. As a design accessory it adds to a modern decor. However, it is pretty weak. In hindsight I wish I had bought a different fan that does a better job of cooling. The light is useless. It looks kinda cool. I can't recommend this unless you are looking for a cool look and don't care about weak air flow. May 17, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Light is too dim We had read that the light was dim in this product but had no concept of how dim. Let me clarify for folks how dim. With just this light on in a room at night, you cannot see to sort socks. It is extremely dim. We love the fan and everything else about this product--easy to install and the fan is very cooling--but if you actually need light in your room, I recommend you look elsewhere. April 30, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hampton Fan Bought 3 of these fans on sale online, great price,1 didn't work, so returned for refund. Looks cool, aviation design, light is useless, for ambiance only, good remotes, easy install, airflow is marginal so OK for small room. Not worth full price. Not recommended! January 17, 2014
