I had to replace the bracket the connects the fan to the blade after mine broke for no apparent reason. I went to Home Depot 3 weeks ago and a very nice man there gave me a replacement bracket from a returned fan. This weekend I was ready to grab the ladder and replace the blade bracket. When I walked out side to the patio I noticed another blade bracket broke.
I hope Home Depot will give me 4 or 5 new brackets.

Assembly is always a challenge, but nothing more than should be expected...
Looks nice, moves air, light fixture is effective: overall a good quality product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rodney Poor quality for an outdoor fan!!
Bought 3 of these ceiling fans when we refurbished our carport/porch because they were outdoor fans. Only really used them a few times, but last week, noticed one barely spun on high while the others started right up. Last week I came home and one of the blades was laying on the floor. The blade support just snapped off from what looks like corrosion. Yesterday, another one of the blades was laying on the floor! The screws securing the blade to the support are quite corroded also. I wouldn't have expected that on fans that were supposedly made for outdoor use. I have pictures if anyone wants to see the poor quality!

We only used it during summer months on weekends so that is about 3 months. It cannot handle any outdoor weather. The fan blades were drooping down within a few months. A blade literally broke off within the first year and then the motor completely died. I contacted the maker and I had to pay to ship it, $60. Then they told me they cannot replace it and I have to buy all the parts ($160 worth) and ship it back. The fan is cheaper than all this. Ridiculous! I just told them to throw it away. What's the point. I also have an indoor fan that is failing and it makes me wonder, what is the point of the warranty.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MotoGuy Poor quality blade arms
I bought 2 of these for my patio. They look great and work well but the blade arms are very weak and both fans have 4 blades broken off after only 6 months. I called the 800 number in the owner’s manual to get new blade arms because the stores don't carry anything for these fans. They wanted to charge me $35 for each set of blade arms. I told the woman on the phone about the reviews here and the issues with the blade arms breaking and they didn't acknowledge that there is a problem with them. I received very poor customer service in my opinion. I would not recommend any Hampton bay product to anyone.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RP123 Good Fan
It's a good fan overall. For a 60" fan I think it should put out more air on high. Had some issues with the pull chain on the light kit after a few days, on two separate fans, Hampton Bay customer service immediately sent two pull chains in the mail for free.
Also when the fan was initially shipped to me the glass for the light fixture was broken and again, Hampton Bay customer service immediately sent me a glass dome.
Over all I would have to give the customer service department for Hampton Bay and A++ mark.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by FunChad The fan looks "cheap."
The installation wasn't too difficult. I've done several fan installations in my home and a rental home recently, but the directions seem fairly simple. The fan blades aren't terrible, but they look cheaper than I expected. I think it has to do with the cruddy white globe that's included. I haven't yet looked to see if I can get a replacement globe, but the one that's included could have been made in the 70's. Also, it appears that Hampton Bay designed this globe attachment specifically for their fan unit. Replacing the globe with an after-market unit is not likely to work easily; I'm concerned I will have to purchase a Hampton Bay replacement globe, which could be their goal; I can't wait to see what the prices are...
