We installed this on our covered porch and it looks and works great. Love the dimmer feature on the light switch. Had to purchase a longer rod due to the pitch in the ceiling. Easy install.

We bought two of these ceiling fans for a screened in porch at our lake house and love the way they look and function. The oil-rubbed bronze fits in well with the style of the house and the closed seeded glass lights are very attractive. We were remodeling, so our electrician installed these for us, therefore I cannot comment about ease of installation. They provide such a nice breeze on very still summer days and the light is perfect for us in the evening. We have had them now for about a month and we are very happy with these ceiling fans; we have received many complements about them too.

Ordered 2 Sailwind fans with light fixture. No directions were included in the box for installation. Required to go on line to view/print. This made it very difficult not to have a hand held copy for installation. Great difficulty putting fans ups. (Have done many over the years.) Purchased 2 Sailwinds for large outdoor covered deck. With one up, started the task on the 2nd fan. Difficulty with wiring two together so had to hire an electrician. Electrician mounted 2nd fan when working on wiring 2 together using one remote. He found the blades scraped the motor housing on Sailwind #2 fan. Took fan apart and measured. The motor was mounted at the factory to high. (Correct on first fan.) Called Home Depot and could not get assistance. Engagement party planned in 5 days to be held at our home on the deck. Given manufactures number for support, but they didn't open for another 2 hours. Was told it had to be returned and replaced they do not work on motors. Called Home Depot back but they could not get a fan out to us in time. Suggested I return the fan to the Home Depot store and purchase a fan to put up until next Sailwind arrives. This meant taking the fan down again. Returning it to store. At store, found only an indoor fan similar. Electrician had to return due to wiring / remote issue. Have not put up the new Sailwind fan that was ordered due to electrician's schedule.
Annoyed at the number of hours this has taken what should have been a simple purchase and installation.
Can't believe Home Depot did not offer to replace the fan at no cost or 50% after the hours and expense this product has caused.
We will NEVER purchase another of the Home Depot brand products like this. Everyone that comes to the new porch will also hear the nightmare of the ceiling fan saga we went through.

This fan looks perfect in our hallway. Its very quiet and doesn't move when on. The installation process was somewhat confusing, it took about two hours and three people helping. Would recommend fan!

We bought two of these ceiling fans for our master bedroom and bathroom. They are beautiful and well constructed. While I do love them, there are three things about them that I don't like. 1.) There is only one light bulb and it has a candelabra base. I would have preferred a standard base so I could put a higher wattage bulb in. 2.) The only controls are on a switch that has to be mounted to the wall. Since both fans were mounted in rooms next to each other, the switches had to be set on different frequencies so one switch didn't control both fans. My husband is a handy guy that was able to do the install himself. Others may have to hire someone to install this for them. 3.) I hate the dimmer for the light. It doesn't have a toggle that you can move up or down to dim it. You have to hold a button down. If you have dimmed the light, in order to bring it to full brightness again, you have to hold the button down and let it dim all the way down before it will go back to full brightness. I find this to be very annoying and inconvenient. Those three things aside, I am still happy with the purchase.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by build great fan ! workd great ! wish i would have installed one years ago !
very good and easy to understand instructions ! the wire was already in place all I had to do was install blocking and electrical box. I did not wire up for remote control or the dimmer that came with it. I instead purchased a dimmer switch separate so it would match our wall plate that was inside the house.
I wired up the fan after consulting a buddy of mine. the install went very smooth, and my buddy wired up the dimmer switch. its a great fan!
