The remote has a button for the light to be dimmed and you hold it to brighten the lighting. It has a separate control for the fan.

Customer Reviews

San Lorenzo 52 in. Rustic Ceiling Fan is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not recommended - poor quality I ordered six of these fans on line and had five professionally installed; the sixth had to be returned to the local store due to receipt with a broken light socket. The five installed are noisy - they either him or making clicking sounds or both. Not acceptable. Fans have been commodity items for decades and at this point there is no excuse for any fan to be noisy, wobble or have any other issue. Then there is the light kit - color is hideous and the faux design is awful. Would not recommend this fan.

Installed this fan in our master bedroom when our home was built in 2005!!! Still runs like the day we bought it! This fan literally runs everyday and has for the last 12 years! I love this fan, it is quiet, moves a ton of air and is beautiful to boot!!! I would highly recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad fan First one we got the housing was rubbing on the blade holder so we got one to replace it and the motor didn't work but we have purchased 8 other Hampton bay fans and they are great

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Installed in master bedroom Purchased the fan based solely on the reviews stating the motor was quiet, ignoring the fact the globe design is a little weird. Had the fan professionally installed by an electrician and at first the motor was extremely quiet. But now after approximately 6 weeks the medium speed (my fave) is starting to rattle. Enough so it wakes me up and I have to change the speed to make it stop. It's irritating, and now to correct it, I have to hire another electrician to uninstall it so I can return it to Home Depot. Very dissatisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fan but had installation issues Now that I am done I really like the fan, but I had two issues during installation. 1. Both light bulb sockets were oriented at each other, both didn't fit. This was even shown in the installation book! Had to pivot one 180 degrees which only made sense.. 2. The metal brackets that hold the fan blades rubbed against the woven leather band creating a loud vibrating noise. To fix this I tried filing down the upper edges of the brackets (a real pain), but they still made contact. So I made shims out of thin cardboard to gain needed space. The light is nice and bright and the fan is now silent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fan Heavy fan, not too difficult to install just a lot of wires and remote receiver to get in the box and escutcheon. Runs extremely smooth and quiet. Good looking fan, operates well with remote. Only complaint is that it is not reversible with the remote you must physically switch the switch by hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet fan, well balanced. It is a nice looking fan for the most part. Not too thrilled about the light cover's decorative look but it will do. I like the decorative metal connectors that attach the fan blades to the motor. Having different decorative designs on either side of the fan blades is nice too. I have put up 3 other ceiling fans before and this one wasn't a big challenge to install. The fan is very quiet, in fact it is almost silent at low speed which is important since it is in our bedroom. At high speed the fan barely wobbles. The remote works perfectly so far. Only one warning: if installing a ceiling medallion with it make sure the medallion center is free to accept the wire cover that goes in the middle otherwise the screws won't be long enough to hold the wire cover in place.
