Heavy fan, not too difficult to install just a lot of wires and remote receiver to get in the box and escutcheon. Runs extremely smooth and quiet. Good looking fan, operates well with remote. Only complaint is that it is not reversible with the remote you must physically switch the switch by hand.

Purchased the fan based solely on the reviews stating the motor was quiet, ignoring the fact the globe design is a little weird.
Had the fan professionally installed by an electrician and at first the motor was extremely quiet. But now after approximately 6 weeks the medium speed (my fave) is starting to rattle. Enough so it wakes me up and I have to change the speed to make it stop.
It's irritating, and now to correct it, I have to hire another electrician to uninstall it so I can return it to Home Depot. Very dissatisfied.

This is an absolutely beautiful fan. It was installed in less than an hour including a down-rod. Quiet!

This is not for someone who has a hard time reading and following instructions. It is a little more complicated than some of them I've seen. I'm very happy with the beautiful style and quality. It is totally operated by a remote and doesn't even have a chain hanging from it. You can adjust the speeds and everything!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CPTCRUNCH Nice fan but had installation issues
Now that I am done I really like the fan, but I had two issues during installation. 1. Both light bulb sockets were oriented at each other, both didn't fit. This was even shown in the installation book! Had to pivot one 180 degrees which only made sense.. 2. The metal brackets that hold the fan blades rubbed against the woven leather band creating a loud vibrating noise. To fix this I tried filing down the upper edges of the brackets (a real pain), but they still made contact. So I made shims out of thin cardboard to gain needed space.
The light is nice and bright and the fan is now silent.

I had this fan installed today, and I just love it, especially the remote control, makes it so easy. I got it on sale and couldn't be more pleased! My furniture is dark wood and it goods beautiful!

This was my 2nd Hampton Bay fan to install in my home in the last few weeks. Some of the instructions only become understandable after you have figured out that step on your own. Some of the instructions aren't quite in English. I was pleased with the remote and how well balanced the fan was. The only problem was the light. Though the fan takes 2 13W (60W) bulbs that are plenty white, when you attach the globe, the light cast is dark yellow, like a bug light. The whole room turns yellow. The 3 "veins" in the pattern of the globe are a little weird, too. They're quite pronounced, not subtle. I'm going to try to find an alternative light assembly for this fan, but don't know how easy or hard that will be.
