Answer:
Yes. Paint will not affect the function. I suggest using a spray paint or a foam roller, and a sheen like satin or semi-gloss that will be less likely to hold onto dust. Keep your coverage even to avoid affecting the balance of the blades.

Hi DonDom41. We do not advise painting the blades as the moisture from the paint will damage the blades, as well as possibly cause the fan to become unbalanced. The fan blades are weight matched during the manufacturing process to ensure proper balancing and even the slightest weight change can cause the fan to wobble. This fan does come with reversible blades in black finish on one side and rosewood Read More

Yes, it can....you can also purchase separately a remote control that has separate buttons for fan and light adjustments.
As far as hooking up a dimmer/fan switch on the wall: you have to have it correctly wired in the ceiling first with two separate hot leads or you won't be able to control them separately at the wall switch/dimmer. But once you've done that, just follow the installation Read More

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Yes, this fan can be wired to a dimmer and fan speed control. The fan speed control must be a variable speed control, and not a dimmer style switch. The dimmer switch can be used for the light kit. Please note that dimmable bulbs must be installed for the dimming to function. The fan is shipped with non-dimming bulbs.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 233 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Quiet Small Space Fan When our house was built in 2002 we purchased 2 of these fans for our children's bedrooms. In July one of them smoked out. I went looking for a replacement and found this almost identical model on line at the Home Depot. It's different in how the chain switched come out of the housing and the mounting piece that holds the extension ball, is different and really are not interchangeable. But appearence wise it was a perfect match. Assembly and installation were pretty easy and took about 2 hours, again the box was already in place in the ceiling. So it comes with 2 CFL curly florescent lights and it says not to use any bulbs over 9 watts in the fan, but these bulbs are ugly and ruin the appearence of the screened shades. I purchased 9 watt clear LED bulbs and they look much better in the fan. One thing that impressed me is how quiet the net one is compared to the old one and the remining one. I use it on mediium speed and it's super quiet. So it's in service now and I've kept the sales slip since it now has a lifetime warranty. August 2, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good fan for small room Needed a fan with this look to match room design. Its a smaller fan, so needs a small room to be efficient. August 16, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Son room This was perfect for my son's room this way he won't break the glass cover of the bulbs playing basketball in his room! August 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Expect problems with Hampton Bay ceiling fans due to poor design and components quality Hampton Bay ceiling fans are pleasing to eyes, however they design quality and the quality of materials is poor. Expect pull chains to break off often, and it takes some skills to replace them. Usually you have to replace the entire switch, not just a chain. Stay away from these products, July 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Completely satisfied The fan was exactly what we wanted and expected. Thank You! July 12, 2016
