Answer:
DON'T USE THE INCANDESCENT 40-WATTERS. They use far too much power, produce way too much heat, and give lousy light. Use Candelabra LED's. This one seems to take three of them.

Remote controls all fans?

I purchased 2 ceiling fans, and installed them in separate rooms (rooms are on opposite sides of the house). When I use one remote for a ceiling fan in one room (such as turning on the lights or fan), the remote also turns on the ceiling fan in the other room. Do all the ceiling fans have the same transmitters, or did I get 2 ceiling fans from the same manufacturer lot/batch?

Answer:
Your dip switch settings on both remotes are set the same. Change the code to one remote and receiver to have them function separately. See instructions on page 6 of the manual:

All fans work off of the same frequency code. You need to set one of the two fans to a different frequency setting by changing your dip switch codes. The dip switch codes are located on both the receivers and transmitters. Answer:
in the transmitter(remote) and receiver there are a set of dip switches. These small switches select the frequency (channel) used by each light. In order to have them separate from each other change the settings on one transmitter and receiver. Just change the dip switch settings and make sure they match Trans/receiver. It should be in the installation manual how this is done.

I have done a lot of fans, but not that model. It is pretty, but I seriously doubt it will do the "hugger" function that you want. But, hey, order it, open it up, and see. if it won't go to the configuration you want/think you need, return it to HD. That brand is an in-house one, so I'm unsure you can "call the company" about it. Good luck! Read Less

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful but difficult to install This is my 9th ceiling fan installation in 15 years. It was the hardest. Must be an octopus to install the blades. The mounting bracket is a superior suspended cradle but unnecessarily small, causing cramped work space. Forget the 4" pipe and on 1st step not 9th step decide to switch to the 6" to have enough work room. Too many screws to remove instead of just loosen to install pieces. Decorative ceiling mount cap unnecessarily small when trying to fit a remote and all wiring. After 3 hours and simply trying to mount the light kit you discover the factory tightened down a screw too much and stripped it. Try solving that upside down. Could not have done it if I did not have prior experience in electronics and many tools. Better test that remote before you seal up the unit. This unit is for experienced and tool rich. There are units on the shelf claiming 30 minute installation because they are 90% assembled. This is not one of those but it could have been if manufacturer had used a larger box. It is wobble free and quiet. September 5, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty but hard to install The light is pretty but it took an experienced electrician 5 hours to install it. There Is no working room once you get it suspended from the ceiling. Remote box just barely fits in the slot and after one night it just quit working. It worked great when I tested it but the next morning it wouldn't turn the fan on. Expensive piece of ceiling art. August 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good fan Overall nice fan that goes with our home's stained glass windows. Only complaint light is not very bright but nice ambience August 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful fan Bought as a replacement so the installation was easy. Fan is silent and moves air well. Light is more for mood as it is not a bright light, but perfect for a room that doesn't need a reading light. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase. Very happy with everything. I hired someone to hand. Bought 2 fans and they were easy to hang. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this fan... Had it in our old home and just had to have in our new one too! Love the mission style lamp; it's so soft that we left it on all the time August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fan I love this fan. Very quiet, excellent design and worth the cost! August 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quick easy replacement I ordered two of these fans for my living room. Both were professionally installed. One had a clicking sound from the motor. I liked the working one so much that I ordered another one and returned the malfunctioning one to the local Home Depot. I now have both up. They are a wonderful compliment to the room and work quite well. There is an option to work them either independently or in tandem. We have them remotely working independently with no issues.
