Answer:
DON'T USE THE INCANDESCENT 40-WATTERS. They use far too much power, produce way too much heat, and give lousy light. Use Candelabra LED's. This one seems to take three of them.

Remote controls all fans?

This question is from Savona 52 in. Weathered Bronze Ceiling Fan

I purchased 2 ceiling fans, and installed them in separate rooms (rooms are on opposite sides of the house). When I use one remote for a ceiling fan in one room (such as turning on the lights or fan), the remote also turns on the ceiling fan in the other room. Do all the ceiling fans have the same transmitters, or did I get 2 ceiling fans from the same manufacturer lot/batch?

Answer:
Your dip switch settings on both remotes are set the same. Change the code to one remote and receiver to have them function separately. See instructions on page 6 of the manual:

All fans work off of the same frequency code. You need to set one of the two fans to a different frequency setting by changing your dip switch codes. The dip switch codes are located on both the receivers and transmitters. You will need to remove the battery cover to change the transmitter code and the receiver will need to be changed to match that setting. Please call Hampton Bay at 877-527-0313 for Read More

Answer:
in the transmitter(remote) and receiver there are a set of dip switches. These small switches select the frequency (channel) used by each light. In order to have them separate from each other change the settings on one transmitter and receiver. Just change the dip switch settings and make sure they match Trans/receiver. It should be in the installation manual how this is done.

Yes, but you have to be patient with it. Don't press the direction button too long. Don't expect it to work the first time you press it.

I have done a lot of fans, but not that model. It is pretty, but I seriously doubt it will do the "hugger" function that you want. The video blurb says that it does allow "close-to-ceiling installations," but offers no more on that, merely saying that you get 4" and 6" downrods with it - I'm taking that statement as meaning it must run with the downrods, even if just the shorter one.

But, hey, order it, open it up, and see. if it won't go to the configuration you want/think you need, return it to HD. That brand is an in-house one, so I'm unsure you can "call the company" about it. Good luck! Read Less

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 205 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Only with LED ability - Love the looks of this fan, and it would have had an excellent rating with one exception. With only 3 - 40 watt lightbulbs, and you are not allowed to use LED lightbulbs, it needs supplemental lights for the room. With LED bulbs the new norm, how long before incandescent will be phased out? I have been told by Hampton Bay if I use LED's that it will violate warranty. I had also bought the Hampton bay wall control, to find out it doesn't have the same controls as the hand-held remote. (you cannot reverse fan blades with wall remote). With LED's not allowed as a replacement bulbs, this fan needs to be replaced with one that allows more light. October 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very pretty looking fan, and the fan is great, but lighting is very bad. Does not light up a bedroom and therefore I feel it is inadequate for use in a room if it is the main source of lighting.. October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall very good Product arrived with a broken Globe. Contacted Home Depot and they replaced with no trouble. Installation was easy if you've installed fans before. Overall product is as expected and of good quality EXCEPT FOR the globe. The globe is not very well made. I expect over time it may come apart even if not bumped. handle with care. October 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice but came damaged The glass came broken. Had to request a replacement which ended up back ordered. So we have had the fan for a couple weeks and still waiting for the glass cover. The whole reason I chose this fan. September 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love these fans! Beautiful and work great. Very quiet and moves a lot of air. The only negative is that the light is not very bright. The remote is great and love that you can dim the light to a glow. September 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A very good fan, but poor light The fan was fairly easy to assemble, & worked great. The only problem was that even though I replaced the 40 Watt bulbs that came with it with 60 Watt equivalenet LED bulbs the room was still dark. I wound up purchasing & installing a different light kit that could take 100 Watt equivalent bulbs. That worked well for visibility, but the lights would not dim, even though they were labeled dimable. September 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful and quiet! I can't speak to the ease of installation, as we had a contractor install it. We needed power run where there hadn't been any before, so it was necessary to hire someone. However, the power line was run, switches, and fan/light installed in less than 2 hours. I was impressed. The fan is beautiful and runs very quietly. I would recommend it to anyone. September 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ceiling fan the fan looks and works great...the installation is a little on the hard side..but worth the time and effort.. September 20, 2016
