Installation was fairly easy. Directions were easy to follow and easy to put parts together. However, I did have some difficulty with the Globe that covers the wires. The screws to secure the Globe were in a position that was obstructed by the motor and hard to reach. But after I went back to the Home Depot to buy the smallest Phillip Head Screwdriver I could find, that helped. As for the finished product, I love the bronze look and the fan is super quiet. I can't hear it at all. It pretty much worked the first time I did not need to make any adjustments. I am completely satisfied.

One blade was damaged in the box, but on the side facing up so that wasn't a big deal. The fan was easy to install. The wires were long enough to go all the way through the 24" extension downrod (purchased separately) with ease. The fan wobbled badly once turned on. I balanced it using the included balancing kit but the double-sided tape on the weights for balancing did not stick permanently to the blades and flew off twice. I replaced the double-sided tape with better tape and re-balanced the fan. One of the light bulbs included with the fan did not work and after two calls to Home Depot and 6 weeks to get a replacement, I'm still waiting.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jen Great Price, Quiet Fan, Bright Light
We were excited for the sale price of this item and purchased three for the home we are renovating. Basic fan, quiet and easy to install. The shades cast a bit of a yellow light, but the three bulbs make the room bright.

We needed a fan to replace an original one from 20 years ago, so pretty much anything would have worked. I chose this fan because I wanted the darker wood on the reversible side and the oil rubbed dark finish on the metal. The fan installed very easily and is extremely quiet. I mean, like no noise. None. I still need to find bulbs that match because the fluorescent bulbs that shipped with the product are white and clash with the color of the lamps, but that couldn't be helped. Great value, didn't need the remote so I am glad that I could get a less expensive fan without it.

Fan has lifetime warranty on motor. Price was very good. Instructions were not great but adequate. Installation of blades was not so easy due to light kit obstruction. There was only one place screw driver would fit through the obstruction, and the instructions did not tell me that. fan is quiet and CFL lights work great. Instant on.

The builder grade ceiling fan in our master bedroom decided that it did not want to work anymore so my Wife & and have been shopping for a new fan.
In the same week, I received an email from HomeDepot.com saying that they had ceiling fans on special up to 40% off. At that point I figured that the stars were aligning and we needed to look at Home Depot's on line selection of fans.
After searching and reading reviews we decided to go with the Hampton Bay52 inch Scottsdale Oiled Rubbed Bronze Indoor Ceiling Fan.
Installation was pretty simple as I followed the instructions. The included down rod is a short one. I used my old down rod from the previous fan an just painted it to match the fan (thanks Home Depot paint department for the help and suggestions). I did have to spend a little extra time balancing the blades with the supplied weights...but it all worked out in the end.
So now, our master bedroom fan is back up and running and thanks to HomeDepot.com I saved a lot of money in process.
