Rated 1 out of 5Â by Yamaducci Horrible Electronics for Remote System
Shortly after purchasing this expensive fan. The remote or receiver failed intermittently. The code was checked and the battery; as well as, the antenna was checked . The receiver ( I assume) finally totally failed and no longer works, The motor has a lifetime warrantee but nothing else does. Hampton bay will not replace the electronics, it's up to the owner to re-purchase electronics that fail prematurely. Typically fans with pull chains can last 15-20 years or more. Add fancy electronics to them and they become disposable. Now the lifetime fan is worth nothing since it no longet works. Way to go Hampton Bay.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Butter Beautiful / Quite / Excellent light
Very Beautiful Fan. Installation was fairly easy, however, as stated in a previous review, one fan blade did come in contact (rubbing) against the light. An easy fix, as I just switched it out with another fan blade which had greater clearance from the light housing. Problem solved!
Super quite motor and excellent fan overall!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by BillR625 Very Quiet, Very Good Air movement.
I have had this fan now for over 3 years now and we are very happy with it. Over the last 3 years I have replaced the bulb maybe 3 times, maybe. Its in my family room where my kids play video games so it gets used every day for numerous hours, there is not a day it does not get used, fan and light. We never dim the bulb as it stays on high the whole time, the light is a single 100Watt halogen that is not a tremendous amount of light but good enough actually, we have no other lights so for the application its used for the light is ok. I have only replaced the batteries in the remote twice. The fan was as easy as any fan I have ever installed. I have probably installed 50 fans in my lifetime and the cheaper the fans the more problems I have encountered with missing hardware, or poor instructions, 10 fans overall in my home alone. They are all pretty much the same as far as mounting, nothing unusual about this one. You do not need to have a 3 wire electrical circuit for this fan, a simple 2 wire is all that is needed. I have my fan on a 23 deg sloped ceiling and a 18 inch down-rod that I purchased separately. There is literally zero noise from this fan, extended down-rod, sloped ceiling and all and its noiseless. There is plenty of air movement as well, no complaints as many times I use the medium as high is too high some days...Having a secured electrical box mounted to a ceiling joist is in my opinion the best method to secure any fan. Not that the center of joist boxes with metal extensions don't work well, I believe getting the box screwed right into the joist gives the tightest mounting so there is less likely vibration noise. I actually used what they call a 1/2 inch pancake box on my installation as I had a joist running right down the center of the ceiling. A pancake box is a electrical ceiling box the thickness of the drywall, so the finished edge does not protrude past the drywall or is recessed, so mounting the fan and its cover plates is nice and tight to the ceiling. I always install a medallion at the ceiling where the cover plate meets the ceiling. I believe it adds a nice finishing touch for little money and in case you have any damaged drywall or you had to make the opening slightly larger then you would like, it covers nicely. The fan doesn't seem to collect a lot of dust on the blades either, so cleaning isn't a constant worry. I like that the blade hardware isn't visible like a majority of fans, these blades are secured without seeing the screws. The glass dome on these fans can sometimes be a challenge, this is simple you lift up a little and turn counterclockwise, what really helps is to use rubber cleaning gloves or one of those rubber discs to help remove caps from jars. Something to give you some traction when removing the dome, works every time. You can also put a little Vaseline on the edge of the glass dome where the glass meets the metal mounting flange, just to keep it from sticking. Overall this is a gorgeous modern looking fan and I get constant compliments on it. I would buy it again without hesitation.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Malclu Very Good Purchase!
We Purchased a new home with 17 foot ceilings, which did not have a fan. The installer had to complete the installation from beginning to end and had no problem doing so. Appearance is modern, but also fits very well in my more traditional home. Does not compete with the decor. We love the different speeds, the lighting is nice, as we can create a soft glow or a bit stronger, both with the use of the remote. The only drawback that we see is, if you wish to switch rotation of blades, for seasonable use, it's on the fan housing. With the high ceilings this will be somewhat of a challenge. Would be nice to have the option on the remote. Overall, great purchase for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Mary Best fan in the house so far
This is the best fan installed in our house so far and I'm so glad it's in my bedroom! (We've installed 4 other different fans so far, with another 3 to go). It is super quiet and it really cools the room- I only need to set on medium. Very contemporary and stylish! The light is bright and works great with the remote dimmer. I only wish this fan comes in different sizes and colors so I can get it for a couple other rooms in the house! Absolutely love it!
