Lights turn off after being on about 45 seconds.

My ceiling fan light has started turning off about 45 seconds after I turn it on. If I turn it off and back on, it comes on and again goes off after about 45 seconds. I have changed the light bulbs, to no avail. I tried operating it with only 2 bulbs (instead of 3) and get the same result. I have looked on Hampton Bay's website, but the only recommendation they give is to check the remote batteries and dipswitch; this fan does not have a remote. Any help would be appreciated because I need the light. Fan is probably about 4 years old.

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst lighting ever on a ceiling fan The overall look/operation/fan speed & price are outstanding! This by far is the worst ceiling fan I have ever purchased in respect to the lighting. They tried too hard to save consumers money on electricity that they ruled out the fact that some people might actually want light and will pay electric company's extra money to see. I'm giving my honest opinion on the fan and I absolutely love the fan but it needs to revert back to an old school "big" lighting design vs the new school way of maximizing your energy bill. I recommend others to immediately purchase this fan for the look, design, cost, etc.. But if you want light, buy some supplemental lighting to tie into overall lighting of your area. July 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ♡ this fan! Beautiful and quiet fan! I wish this fan was still sold in stores. March 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by product is as advertized We live in a home with inaccessible attic and should have realized that we cannot install the fan without massive dry wall removal and cribbing of the rafters to handle the weight of the fan. further there is serious routing of wires and connection issues to get the fan installed properly. We THOUGHT there once was a ceiling light earlier...and discovered that there was not one...ever. Location Location Location...Planning Planning Planning...are synomonus August 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy install, high Quality, Easy to install, took about 1 hour. Adds comfort to the room and looks great ! I replaced the lights with small LED's for efficiency since we use the fan light 4 + each day. January 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovin' this fan! Bought 1 of these for our bedroom to replace an existing, noisy fan. It runs very quietly, even on the highest speed setting. Liked the looks of it so much, bought a second for our den. We switched out the 40W bulbs (that come with the fan) with 60 W, as the light is not very bright, but that's OK for the one in the bedroom. My husband installed both with no problems. Am considering 2 more - the brushed nickel with dark wood blades, for our media room. I'm thinking that people who think this fan is noisy, may have an installation issue. August 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great ceiling fan This fan was easy to assemble and have it working in a reasonably short time. It produces a nice breeze and cools nicely. I feel that anyone who installs this fan will have many years of enjoyment. September 17, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Very Well Made Looks good, but not well made. Had problems from the get go. Missing screws which facilitated another trip to the hardware store. Bent fan motor assembly which meant returning the first fan. The extention neck was spray painted completely, even the threads. I had to use a pipe wrench to get the neck extension to get even close to where a cotter pin could be re-attached. So between two fans I was able to make one fan with only three trips to Home Depot to do the job. I'm disappointed. May 15, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Installed well; now operating well; BUT, installation was made difficult by inadequate directions and a missing part. The instructions for this item need to be reviewed by a person who is an english speaker, not bi-lingual, and has not previously installed the item. The instructions were not complete in some minor regards, they were confusing in other places (remove "three screws"; there were actually four screws; same as replacing the three/four screws); there were extra parts unaccounted for in the instructions; there was a missing washer but an extra screw for the same step.
