I purchased 2 of these lamps...both arrived promptly in good condition and were easy to assemble. The frosted glass shades are really pretty and coordinate well with the brushed nickel finish. The base is heavy/solid enough that the lamp stands up straight, even on carpet. The larger top light will accept a 3-way bulb, but I have not tried that yet...I am using 2 100-watt bulbs in each lamp. The on/off switches can be a bit tricky to turn. I have only had the lamps for about a month, so quality/durability levels remain to be seen, but for the price, I would highly recommend this one if you need a stylish, functional floor lamp.

Picked up the lamp from local store and put together in no time. I purchased this for my office. Have received lots of compliments. I am thinking of buying one for my home.
This lamp is well worth the purchase price.

Arrived in a timely manner and had to be put together which was very easy. The lamp is a major find for the price and quality.Room and reading light combine to make it perfect and eliminates the need for a lamp. Would definitely recommend this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EastNashMan Hampton Bay has outdone themselves!
Lighting is probably the thing I'm most picky about in my house, so I didn't purchase this lamp until after doing a bunch of research. This must be a new lamp offered by Home Depot, and Hampton Bay must have discovered a new technology for making inexpensive lamps, cuz this lamp is a steal!! This is by far the best value of any lamp I have ever purchased. Period. I have bought tons of lamps and light fixtures at Home Depot, and this one tops the list! All other lamps I have seen in this price range, including ones at all the other "discount stores" (Walmart, Target, Big Lots), are of much lower quality than this. I paid $30 for this, and similar floor lamps are generally $40-$70.
The things I'm most surprised about and impressed with this lamp (compared to others around the same price)...
-nice alabaster glass shades - not plastic!
-adjustable reading light - it swivels several directions
-shiny steel finish - it's both classy and modern (in my opinion)
-sturdy - doesn't feel cheap or flimsy
My only minor complaint is that the top section (including both the reading light and 3-way light) is all one piece - and mine is a little bit crooked. It's not extremely noticeable, and is really only noticeable from certain angles. But none-the-less it is an issue to note - and there's no way to fix the crookedness because it's all one piece and made of very tough steel. I don't know whether or not this is a common problem for this product.
I honestly don't think you can do better for the price. If you find something better than this for $30, I'd be VERY surprised!
P.S. for BULBS... in the pic I'm using a 9-watt CFL (40-watt equiv.) for the reading lamp and a 13-watt CFL (60-watt equiv.) for the 3-way. I realize this makes no sense!! Most people buy these lamps for the 3-way feature, but I like them better with just one wattage option. I've found I don't need more than a 13/60w & 9/40w from this lamp cuz I have a 23/100w lamp and a 180w ceiling fan in the same room. But of course a 50-100-150w is the recommended bulb for the 3-way.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unkster Really awful, even considering the low price
This lamp looks nice in the photo, but it's really poor quality in real life. I guess what do you expect for this price, right? Still, I would expect more than this. The metal is very thin, and the finish is uneven and rough in some places. But the worst part is after assembling it, I found that the top section of the pole is tilted at about a 5-degree angle; it's not even straight! Looks terrible. I briefly considered different ways I might try to correct the problem but even if possible, it would still be a cheap-looking, unattractive lamp. Not something I'd want in my living room. Also, the reading light has no vertical adjustment, as I had hoped. I will be returning it. The only positive: The alabaster glass shades are fairly nice looking.

Looks great in our living room; the base is sturdy and the frosted glass is nice. The trouble is that after about a year, the 3-way switch is almost dead; the light flickers between the light levels on all settings. I really liked it initially for the price, but the essential function of the lamp is compromised - cheap switch mechanism, I guess. I'm going to have to look for a more reliable model.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fester How do they keep it in stock?
very easy to put together !! Real solid metal post and stand. Glass fixtures, not, cheap plastic. I thought the wife and I would argue about it, because of the extremely reasonable cost and not seeing it before I picked it up. I told her I paid $100 and she liked it more, because the one we were going to buy was $135 and your price was $35. We can't tell the difference!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ShimiDawa Beautiful simple lamp at a great price
After the base of a previous flimsy lamp from another company literally crumbled one night, I was desperate to find an affordable torchiere lamp with a reading light, so went online and found this lamp. I'm pleased with the appearance and quality. It has clean and simple lines and was actually really easy to assemble. I'm hoping it lasts a long time.
