I decided to get flooring in my basement which was currently concrete. I was painted brown and made the basement drab and dark. I decided to go with laminate floor planking, which I read was good for basements. I chose toasted spalted maple because of its light color. What a difference it made. Basement was transformed. Neighborhors came over and will be doing the same in their basement. Now let's see how it holds up. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Joeybagofdounuts great laminate for the price and looks awsome. why pay more? heasy to use too.
just installed this new flooring. came out great and the price was right. did a 500 sqft basemane for about $750. definatley spend a little more on a good pad. and also by the install kit it will save your life!!. the floor needs to be very level but other than that it was snap...lol easy to use and cut with a arm saw. Thanks again HD Brewster.

We wanted a laminate floor that was light in color so that it can bring out the espresso oak cabinets in the kitchen. Turned out very nice--great contrast also with dark gray wall in the dining room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by daisy this flooring is just gorgeous, great value for the price point.
this is so pretty for a laminate floor. installed over the weekend in our camp and it looks better than our maple kitchen floors at home. the only issue is that it is quite slippery for the dog, she just flies across the floor and I am somewhat worried about her injuring herself while chasing kids or cats.

Floor looks good put in but was a little harder than I thought it would be to assemble, blends in well with the kitchen furniture and my wife is very pleases with it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Spazzo difficult to install
Took it home, let it sit in the house for two days. Started install and the first two rows went okay. After that, nearly every board refused to click onto the installed row. The click connectors, when they work, are okay. It leaves you with a smooth, nearly invisible seam.
But for some reason, boards from 4 different packs refused to snap in and fit snug with the others. Looked terrible and left a big gap and a high spot. Not to mention the boards just pull apart if they are not clicked in snug. I followed all manufactures instructions.
Giant headache, now I gotta take it all apart and return the opened boxes to the store, hoping they take them without a hassle. I would say spend a little more and get a higher quality flooring, with connectors that work as they should.
