the paper shades are the cheapie type which clip on to the bulb, but other than that I'm pleased with how it looks. Goes great in the dining room of my '30s-era New England colonial. Bought it for way cheaper in-store than online, too.
One thing which I didn't expect is how long the included chain is; I had to take out most of the links and clip a lot of the electrical cord to get it to hang above the dining room table in a room with 8' ceilings. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning.

Bought this for my dining room. It was actually cheaper in the store than it was online. Very nice quality and easy to assemble and install. Looks great in my 1920's Colonial. One shade was damaged when I opened the box. Called the 800-number. Took a few days and they called me and said to return the damaged shade to the store and a new one would be waiting for me at the service desk. I was pleased.

I LOVE how it looks in our great room! It lets off more light than our old fixture and it has 3 less bulbs! It is sleek and clean looking but not too tradtional. I think it would work in any space.
