can the lights be run with a dimmer switch?

Asked by: james
This light comes with CFL bulbs and the power is coming from the connector at the fan. In order to put a dimmer switch on, you would need to run another leg of wiring to accommadate this as well as having the proper dimmer to dim CFLs

Flushmount measurements

How far is it from the ceiling to the bottom of the light fixture if you use the flushmount?
Asked by: ADub
The "close-to-ceiling" installation reduces the distance from the ceiling to the bottom of the fan blades to approximately 9 in. And 18.65 in to bottom of light kit.

Does this fan have 3 speeds similar to other ceiling fans? It's not noted in the description.
Asked by: CSNY18
Yes, it's 3 speeds, even though it's not in the description. It has the standard pull chain, and like most fans you pull once for low, pull again for medium, and pull again for high.

Customer Reviews

Trentino II 60 in. Indoor/Outdoor Natural Iron Ceiling Fan is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fan this is the best fan I have ever had. The fan on high moves so much air. over 11,000 a minute. Most 52 inch fans move around 5,000 and most 60 inch move about 7,000. My mom ended getting one after feeling just how much air it moved. There are two downsides. 1. it's very heavy. 2. makes more noise. With is being so heavy it was harder to put up. as far as being louder it is only when on high. when I turned it to medium it was nice and quite but then not as much air flow. I however don't have a/c so I'm perfectly fine with it. At night I just run on medium and it still cools better than most fans and is nice and quiet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clip pins can move causing a straining motor, and slow fan. When I turned on the fan it made strained motor sound, and barely turned. My wife looked up the reviews on this site and saw the review from Gary Doug where he described the same symptoms and gave the solution! "I removed the light kit and found that"... ONE wire connector pin (a grey one) was backed out of its' clip. I pushed it back in and the fan immediately quieted down and started blowing the promised10000 cfm! Some have asked "why not just return it instead of fixing it?" Because fixing it is much faster! After fixing the grey wire, the fan was balanced, quiet, and the lights were bright. FYI, I put on a 48" downrod from Lowes and the grounding screw on that downrod was #8-32, which was a smaller machine screw size than that on the downrod that came with the fan. I'm sitting under the fan outside right now enjoying it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely love!! I was looking for an outdoor fan for a new screened in porch. I wanted something that would be easy to change the bulbs - nearly impossible to find!! So, I took a chance on this and am very happy! It was worth the price. I did need to buy a down rod and a chain extension since the porch has a vaulted ceiling. In full disclosure, I did not install the fan - the electrician did it but said it was pretty easy and straightforward. I love the light it gives as well as how strong the fan is. We usually keep it on medium or low because high is a true windstorm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from completely silent Assembly was easy. The instructions were very clear and the fan has multiple mounting options. Once the fan was installed I turned it on. This fan moves alot of air on high setting. The lighting is great also. There is no motor noise. Very happy with our choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good buy I had the electrician install 5 of these fans because of the large wrap-around porch area and increased ceiling height. I was quick and easy. Even on an open porch, you can feel the air movement and this will allow us to enjoy using the porch during the coming hot muggy summer heat. I think this model has the highest air flow that i could find on the Home Depot website. The remote was "paired" with this particular ceiling fan at check-out and it seemed a little pricey but is also working well with the fan. I have no complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent investment Initially, after I removed the parts of the fan from the container and looked at the assembly instructions I thought that this was going to be a complicated task, but surprisingly it was very easy to put together. Once assembled the unit sits snugly in the ceiling bracket while the electrical connections are completed and at a 34lb weight, one person can fit it with no problems. Love the way the design of the fitting of the blades has done away with screws to fit them. Now it just a simple matter of aligning the key slot holes, press down and slide forward into the spring mechanism thus locking the blade securely. The quality in both looks and operation is excellent. There is a reverse switch for winter setting and it really does appear to keep the bedroom warmer by moving the warm air from the ceiling and down to where it’s needed. The only thing I was a little disappointed with is the supplied CFL spiral light bulbs. Not only do they appear to cheapen the beautiful appearance of the unit as a whole, but have no protection. I have opted out of using them and instead replaced them with a different kind of CFL that is of the reflected type. But the changing of the type of bulb used is my preference and should in no way deter away from the beauty and outstanding performance. Very quiet motor and excellent air flow that exceeds my older ceiling fan even when set on the low setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Good Product! This is a good-looking fan and excellent at circulating air. In fact, I wish it had another, lower speed, since even at its lowest speed the air moves fast enough to blow papers. I bought the fan, however, to supplement the air conditioner, which is slightly too small to cool my bedroom enough for the hot Texas summers, and this job it does admirably.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great apperance, top quality material The fan was delivered with all parts required for installation and was well packaged with all items scratch free. The directions provided were pretty easy to follow and as a DIYer the installation was not difficult at all. We already had a rough in box placed on our morning room ceiling and utilized the existing wiring for the fan and lights. I would recommend having help spotting the ladder and assistance in placing the motor into the top housing because there is a substantial weight to the motor. All the wiring is incredibly simple with plug and play parts. The metallic material is so sleek and modern and the fan blades are so well designed that there is joy while screwing them in place. It is a drop and drag technique and no fumbling back breaking work aligning the screws. The light housing is slightly glazed and illuminates cozy ambiance throughout the room. Also the flow of air can be adjusted to preference. Our morning room gets direct sunlight all day so this fan is an awesome addition for those hot summer days. We love it.
