Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 74 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice fan! These fans are very nice and contemporary-looking. We bought 2 on sale for around $100 each. It was a great deal for the money. One fan didn't work after we installed it, so we had to return it to the Home Depot store and get a new one. As with all Hampton Bay fans, it is a BIT hard to install, because it is hard to squeeze the receiver into the space at the top of the fan assembly without pulling apart all the wiring connections you have just twisted together. But once you figure it out with one fan, the other fan installations go much quicker. Works great, looks great, is quiet, and we are happy with our purchase. September 18, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I'd rather boil This fan is a piece of junk. I stripped two, maybe three fan blade holes trying to tighten fan blades to housing. Have also called the 800 number because of faulty part in stud/down rod. They claim to be mailing individual pieces that comprise the stud sometime next week. April 2, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this fan. Things I love about the fan: looks like it is high quality (I hate those fans where the blades look cheap), extremely quiet (can't even tell that it's on). The other reviewers are accurate about installation. The wiring on the remote receiver is too short and makes it difficult to insert the receiver into place once all of the wiring in hooked up. I unhooked the wires and re-attached them after getting the receiver in place. Other than that, install is not too bad. Also agree that the remote looks pretty dated, but it works and i keep it in a drawer anyway. Don't forget the 9v battery. May 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Insanely Quiet I don't know what other reviewers were having problems with as it took my husband and I 30 minutes to install this fan. I would recommend that Hampton Bay include the instructions for where the remote wiring goes inside the fan, though, it was easy enough for us to figure out. It goes between the black bracket and the base of the fan at the ceiling connection for anyone who will purchase this in the future. It was obvious it needed to go there as it was a perfect fit. The fan is insanely quiet, even on its highest setting. We didn't need to use balancers as it was perfect upon install. Purchase a 9volt battery for your remote and you're good to go! Though later on I believe we'll be purchasing a wall switch for it since the remote holster isn't the best and the remote itself is ugly. August 6, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good looking inexpensive fan Everything good execpt: Will balance well, but not purfect; top could use more space to locate the wireless receiver. January 13, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Second one is better I first bought this fan about 9 months ago. It has wobbled ever since I installed it, and I tried all sorts of things to get it to stop. We lived with it for a while until I finally got fed up with the wobbling. Luckily, I was able to bring it in to Home Depot and exchange it. No receipt needed. I weighed the blades on the first one, and they were 403, 405, and 408 grams. Way off! Even with the blades removed, the motor would wobble on it's own. It was just out of whack. The new one is better, with all the blades being within 1 gram of each other. It's rock solid, even on high. I was able to wire it so that a wall switch controls the light (bypasses the remote), and the remote controls the fan (also connected to it's own wall switch). If you want to do this, it's handy to know that the white Neutral wire going through the remote receiver is always active, so you can turn the light on even if the fan is off, etc. Also, the second one that we got was obviously a returned unit that was inspected and repackaged. There are all sorts of indications that the fan had been installed before. For instance, all of the wires looked like they had been in wire nuts before. Also, one of the blades has a mark on it, like a roman numeral. The first fan we had had a warped blade, and so does the second fan. I was worried the warped blade would cause some wobble, but luckily it doesn't. I think Hampton Bay needs to increase the quality of their blades for this fan. June 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great performing fan ,,, In the past I always bought cheap costing fans under $40.00. But I was having trouble in one of my smaller rooms staying cool. I did some research and realized I needed a fan that had a higher blade pitch and the number of blades did't matter. This fan from a performance standpoint met my objective. Yes it was over $150+, but I am finding the quality and the performance is far worth the price compared to the low costing traditional fan I was using. After a month, I am even running the fan at a low speed, as the blade pitch is enough to still push the air very adequately. So I am actually using less electricity. On the downside, this fan is LED compatible, and I am not getting the adequate lighting using LED lightbulbs. Overall if you are looking for a fan to help in a smaller space and not concerned about price, this is a great option. July 15, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sure it looks great but... This is about the 5th ceiling fan I've installed, and I have never had one wobble before. This one starts to develop a bad wobble when it is set on medium or higher. It also makes an annoying clicking sound when on high. Light is not bright enough for a 12'x15' room. Need to use extra floor lamps. Other than that, looks great, and moves a lot of air. I'm hoping the issues will get solved when the included balancing kit is installed. June 16, 2013
