Thank you for your question. You can add any universal remote/receiver to this fan or you can call customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and get the original remote control.

Will this fan work with LED Lightbulbs?

Will it work with a Philips New 60-Watt Equivalent A19 LED Light Bulb Soft White - 2700K - 4 Pack?
Asked by: sf
I use LED dimmable and they work fine. Soft White can work, but from my standpoint, I would recommend you compare to (A21) LED Daylight 5000k. The Trieste Fan has a frosted dome, and for me when combined with a LED Soft White, the light becomes dull and distorted, providing very poor light distribution even in a small room. I switched to LED Daylight 5000k which provided a brighter light distribution. Compare for your own preference or to get your desired lighting affect. BTW, I used Feit, but see no reason why Phillips would be any different.

Trieste 52 in. Brushed Nickel Indoor Ceiling Fan is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 90.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handsome fan. Reasonably easy to install. No problems so far. Good value. After I purchased this ... Handsome fan. Reasonably easy to install. No problems so far. Good value. After I purchased this fan, Home Depot reduced the price of this fan. When I brought this to their attention, they refunded the difference based on their 90 day price guarantee. The woman who helped me with this was very pleasant and helpful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wife purchased , but did not realize the fan did not have a flush mount option , or so they say .... Wife purchased , but did not realize the fan did not have a flush mount option , or so they say . I can assure you it can be flush mounted and will include a couple of pics to better explain. I mounted fan in a room that has 8' 3" ceiling , however i have built up concrete slab with plywood subfloor and nailed 3/4 oak floor down , leaving roughly 8 ft between new floor and ceiling . Had i installed the down rod with fan it would have been a constant obstacle as well as limited the air movement to roughly a 5 ft pattern . In addition to flush mount , i choose not to wire with remote kit , having a second wire to that location i wired with a switch and slider combo . Switch is 3 speed and toggle is light off and on , ( yes you will need a 3rd wire , ie black ( hot ) , a white (neutral ) and a "second" hot ( red , blue yellow ect .. ) . If you have conduit, you can pull 2 x new wires #12 or #14 and use one of the wires in conduit as pull string ., So far than fan run quite , air flow is good and light ( i replaced with led ) is fine. Time will tell . ( sorry if i made any typos )

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the fan but the instructions and information are lacking. I have installed dozens of ceiling fans but this was the first with a remote. The instructions were extremely vague about the where and how to install the receiver. In the end I was unable to install the receiver until I removed the motor from the downshaft, allowing me to wedge it into the bracket above the downshaft. Still not sure if it is correct, but it works. The only other complaint would be the fact that my electrical outlet has separate wiring and switches for fan and light. No option to bypass remote and use my setup. If I had known that before purchasing I may have made a different decision. Good fan for someone with only 1 switch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great look & price; not-so-great instructions This fan is a wonderful addition to our morning room/vaulted ceiling. Looks like we paid more than we did & works wonderfully. I am a very frugal shopper & usually have doubts purchasing larger items, as I did with this fan. Was relieved to be extremely happy with it. Also was doubting the fact that a 3-blade fan (instead of 4) would make a difference in the air circulation, but it did not. That puppy makes a room much cooler, quickly, even on low speed. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 was for the awful instructions on the product, as we've encountered before with Hampton Bay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Insanely Quiet I don't know what other reviewers were having problems with as it took my husband and I 30 minutes to install this fan. I would recommend that Hampton Bay include the instructions for where the remote wiring goes inside the fan, though, it was easy enough for us to figure out. It goes between the black bracket and the base of the fan at the ceiling connection for anyone who will purchase this in the future. It was obvious it needed to go there as it was a perfect fit. The fan is insanely quiet, even on its highest setting. We didn't need to use balancers as it was perfect upon install. Purchase a 9volt battery for your remote and you're good to go! Though later on I believe we'll be purchasing a wall switch for it since the remote holster isn't the best and the remote itself is ugly.
