Sometimes the light on the fan turns on by itself, while the fan is on but the light should be off. This happened 3 times in a row last night after I would turn the light off. I've also had the light randomly turn off by itself when I had turned it on. Has anyone else experienced this and could it be an issue with the fixture or the installation?
Asked by: PB7575
please reset the dip switch codes on the receiver and remote so that fan and light will not turn on by itself. for more troubleshooting help call 1-877-902-5588.

Trusseau 52 in. Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 36.

We ordered 4 to replace 4 outdated fans & very happy with the purchase. Things to consider when picking/installing this system: 1. The down rod is only @ 4" long. If you have tall ceilings, you may want to purchase a longer down rod / additional cost to buyer. 2. If you don't want to use the remote control (provided) and wire directly into your light switch (which we did), there is no way to reduce the speed of the fan motor. Make certain its hard wired to the speed you desire. We opted to hard wire into our wall light switch but didn't think it through. Now the fan circulates at high at all times.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from a sold 3.5, I'll round up I need to keep in mind that I pad $100 for this and the last fan I just put in was 12x the price, but this is solidly worth $100. The housing is really a pleasant surprise, nice quality. The light is exactly what you would expect for a single bulb, not crazy bright but adequate. The blades look cheap, and markedly so compared to the stainless housing, but from a distance this is not quite as obvious. They are reversible to show the light wood or dark wood, though the edges of each blade are dark only. The remote is cheap and large but who cares. The fan is as quiet as would be expected. Air flow is average. Installation is a hassle and not quite as solid/secure as some, though I suspect it is adequate. Go ahead and cut short the black/white/blue wires that connect to the fan from the internal power supply unit and you'll be happier.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wobbles due to poor construction This fan will only work with the short non threaded down rod supplied, therefor it should only be sold as a hugger fan. If you attach a longer down rod the fan will not be straight because it will not accept threaded down rods, the only kind sold by Hampton Bay. I've purchased four of these fans and none of them will work if you attach a longer down rod, as suggested in the manual, if you have vaulted ceilings. Hampton Bay could easily fix this by making non threaded down rods, or change the fitting on the fan to accept threaded rods, instead they claim it's a balancing issue that you should resolve with weights.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a Show Horse, not a Work Horse I bought two of these, one for the living room (10' ceiling) and one for the master (~9' ceiling), mostly because the fan's style matches my mid-century modern décor. As far as looks go, this fan is everything I hoped it would be. It's very attractive with its clean lines and streamlined silhouette. However, we all know that beauty is pain, and this fan was a pain to install (at least on the first one). This was mostly due to the just adequate installation instructions which are not very explanatory. One problem I ran into which cost me a lot of time and frustration was confusing the disk that goes on top of the motor housing with the disk that goes on the bottom. I had the first fan hung and wired before I realized my mistake (which required complete disassembly). It's my fault, but it would have been helpful to have a better illustration. Another problem is the downrod: I needed an 18" rod for the first fan, so I bought one from Home Depot which seemed too small in diameter. I bought another from HD's competitor which also seemed too small. I installed it anyway, which caused the fan to be off-center and to wobble considerably, as another reviewer stated. However, with time and patience, I was able to use the included balancing kit to correct the wobble. The second fan installed easily once I understood the process, and had no issues with wobbling since I used the included short downrod. As far as performance, this fan does an okay job of moving air, but if you need some serious airflow, look elsewhere. That's just fine with me, because I just want a gentle breeze. The fan is definitely quiet. The light functions well and dims as it should, but it does cast an upward shadow due to the blades which turns into a strobe effect when the blades are moving. Please note: DO NOT TOUCH THE LIGHTBULB WITH BARE HANDS. That will shorten the life of these mini-bulbs. One other thing to note is that the remote is a lot larger than expected. It's really big. I'm a grown man, and it's almost as large as my open hand. However, it works well, so I guess it's not really a problem. All in all, it's a great fan if you're looking for style over substance and don't mind taking your time with the installation to make sure you've got it right the first time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very good buy We had it installed, and loved how it looked. The light seemed bright until we discovered that if you hold the light button down it dims it and vice versa. We love that we can dim the light and set fan speeds. The remote comes in very handy.
