We were initially going to spend $200 per light but decided to buy these instead. Even at the regular price of $50 it was a great deal. The screws that anchor the light to the outdoor electrical box can be pretty short to ensure that the lights are indeed safely installed onto the walls. Our walls had some texture on it making it difficult for the screws to be long enough. I would suggest buying longer screws if you have textured walls that make it thicker than a normal flat wall. It'll give you piece of mind to go out and pay the $0.50 it costs to buy 2 screws that are a little bit longer and will fit your wall. Installation was overall pretty easy. The glass is one piece so there is not a concern that wind will break it like having lights with several separate pieces of glass would. The style is modern transitional. One big thing to note is that the frosted glass is WHITE and not cream/beige colored as pictured. We solved this by buying soft white bulbs that glow yellow. We didn't want the lights glaring white. We wanted plenty of light to be given off and decided to buy this 100 watt incandescent outdoor light instead of buying CFL or LED only outdoor lantern lights. We just really needed a lot of light to brighten up our back yard at night. Instead of using the 100 watt incandescent, we used 23-26 watt CFL bulbs that give off the equivalent of 100 watts. The normal screw in 23-26 watt CFL bulbs fit and worked perfectly fine and now we don't have to worry about changing out the bulbs too frequently and the energy efficiency is great! Most CFL or LED outdoor lantern lights that we looked at only would take 14 watt CFL and that simply would not give off enough light for us. This lantern was perfect, allowing up to 26 watt CFL bulbs. The 9 inch size is a large size, but we felt the 7 inch size was too small. If you have a massive 2 story home, the 9 inch works pretty well proportion-wise. If you have a one story home that doesn't look tall then I'd suggest buying the 7 inch size. The 7 inch size is what most people should get as it is the "normal" sized lantern light.

The look is great and the price super--took advantage of a 30% off sale which brought the price down to $35 each! They are a bit bigger than our old ones but fit well and install was easy.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Barb64 The appearance of this item is very attractive
We saw a similar product in the store and loved the item; however, the item was $70. We had made the decision to purchase when I was surfing the web and saw this product. I was amazed at the value and the appearance. I jumped on the bargain. Needless to say, i am not disappointed. The lights have made a huge improvement on the front of the house. They were very easy to install. The screws were not long enough, so you may need to purchase different ones. They are a little larger than anticipated, but they are well worth the value and I would recommend purchasing them. Great product.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by ARTISAN1 Nice looking-poor packaging
I had read other reviews before ordering. Most consistent con was glass breakage in shipping. The style was desirable and price was very reasonable for an exterior lighting fixture. I ordered two (2). Sure enough, the glass was broken in half vertically on one light. Fortunately the breaks were directly across from each other. The front one was directly behind the vertical frame, the other was in back. So I gently spread the breaks open and applied clear silicone and hung both lights. I called & ordered a replacement glass. The next day I got a call that replacement glass was not available. So if the glass breaks in the future, the fixture will be worthless! NOT WHAT I EXPECT FROM HAMPTON BAY AND HOME DEPOT. In fairness to Home Depot, I must admit that this was a close-out item. Fortunately I could make this work. No one can tell it was broken.
