Mine too! I have two of these hose reels. The older one has worked flawlessly for many years. The newer one went leaky around the supply hose connection after the first winter. If you learn of a solution to repairing it I would like to hear about your solution.

It is cheaper than buying a new reel but not cheap since it is brass. The instruction step you through replacing it. It was pretty straight forward to get out. Getting the sett bolt back in is a bit of a pain as it likes to fall off the end of the Allen Wrench. I turned the reel so the hole was on the bottom and then put the bolt in. Read Less

yes you can buy a replacement. I did, tried to replace it myself, was impossible. Called the factory to ask for help, they only directed me to their web site, the PDF there is not of much help. Ended up replacing the entire unit.

Looking at this reel, I think that someone who is mechanically inclined might be able to reverse things. But at the same time, I don’t think it was designed with reversal in mind.

You can flip the mechanism. Look for some small allen screws inside. I swapped both of mine right to left.

Answer:
Yes, can be mounted on stucco. But recommend using stucco screw anchors. Yes, can mount to wood... but would not recommend. This reel leaks like a sieve and the wood would be rotted out in no time.

Yes. You can mount it on stucco if you drill and install anchors. It can also be installed on 2x4s if they are level to one another.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 164 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good-This is my 8th I had already bought seven of these for my home and business over 7 year ago. They are attractive, functional, and durable, though this eighth one is replacing one with a broken handle. It may have been abused. The fact that they are still available speaks to their quality. Minus one star because on our Oregon coast the powder coating soon starts to flake and the aluminum oxidizes. We have that problem with all aluminum, powder coated products. September 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Long Lasting Bought one of these at the local Home Depot. At first it was great... easy to install on the wall, looked good, and worked well. Within a few months the o-rings begun to leak, replaced the o-rings and all was good again... for a couple of weeks. Replaced the o-rings again, because the aluminum valve was corroding even after applying an anti-corrosion grease. Contacted the manufacturer, who seemed annoyed at having to answer the phone. They have a brass upgrade for the aluminum part, but it wasn't in stock. Backorder the part, and waited. When the brass part arrived, it didn't fit. It had the correct part number on it, which matched the reel... but was too big. Manufacturer wouldn't take the wrong sized part back or refunded. Took the reel off the wall, and put a hanger instead. The reel went to recycling. September 4, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice reel. Crank handle broke. This is a good hose reel, but I hesitate to recommend it because in the first week of use, the handle broke off, and now I have to figure out how to find a replacement. If I can get a replacement that will hold up, I'll keep the reel, because it has good high capacity, looks nice, and can reel up the hose in a jiffy. April 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice and Sturdy Hose Reel I'd give this 5 stars, but the short feeder hose (connects from water faucet to hose reel) is really a cheap hose. I bought two of these hose reels, and both have small streams of water spewing out while the water is turned. Not sure how long the short hose will last as the leaks grow worse over time. April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product, good price This is my third purchase of this product. High quality with good price. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hose Reel Practical and elegant. I purchased two of these items and installed them in high visible areas. Would highly recommend these hose holders. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hose Reel Aesthetically pleasing to the eye after being mounted on the wall, purchased this product because of the quality and fits well with the colors of the exterior or our home. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hose reel Easy to install well built, have one already and love it August 9, 2016
