This 23 lbs. Westbury Umbrella comes in a well packaged single box. The Box contains 2 pieces, top piece is the canopy and top half pole, the other piece is the bottom pole that snaps into the top pole through a small Snap-in metal pin.
We are using this umbrella with our Westbury High Dinning Set. Crank lift opens/closes the umbrella canopy. Using a high dining table causes the crank lift handle to sit real close to table top, making it hard to rotate the crank handle. I bought the umbrella base to overcome this issue which added 5” to umbrella height thus making it easier to rotate the crank handle. Since this umbrella is a bit heavy due to its metal frame and PVC rain proof fabric, the umbrella base provides rightfully needed support to keep umbrella in place. Its 11” diameter canopy provides abundant shade for everyone seated. You can adjust the umbrella canopy to a 45 degree angle. When you press the button to adjust the umbrella, the canopy free falls from a 90 degree angle to a 45 degree angle. This might eventually put some strain on the mechanism which holds the umbrella at 45 degree. I always give hand support to the pole above the canopy adjustment button so it would not fall freely.
Unlike rectangular umbrellas, if high winds spin its round canopy, it does not cause any offset in the symmetry of the entire set. When you are opening the canopy, rotate the crank handle slowly as long as it easily spins, do not apply extra force.
This umbrella has added an elegant touch to our Westbury Dinning Set. We are happy with this product.

The cable utilized to open & close the umbrella is weak. It broke easily because of the weight of the cloth.

The size of the canopy is AWESOME! The tilt and crank features are very nice and sturdy for the product. I like that it is two separate pieces for when storage will become necessary. The fabric is very thick and has taken a beating in the Oklahoma winds the past several weeks. Only complaint is the crank to raise/lower the canopy is covered by the canopy fabric making access slightly hindered during operation.

We purchased this oversize patio umbrella to shade our living room at sunset. It is large enough to block the sun from our whole room. It is very easy to tilt and very sturdy.

We purchased this to go with the Westbury Dining set and the Deep seating patio set. It looks beautiful with the set and adds class. We choose not to use the table to hold the umbrella up,but instead bought the patio umbrella base with wheels (model DUMB-50) to make the umbrella free standing. This works great because the base can roll around to where we want it on the patio depending on the shade we want. It is a great combination and we are very happy with both purchases. We always support the umbrella when we are raising and tilting it because the umbrella is heavy and we did not want to put stress on the cable. It is very sturdy and holds up well even on windy days.I also like that you can see through the umbrella.

We purchased this umbrella to match the HAMPTON BAY 7 PIECE DINING SET. The umbrella covered the table great, seemed a little hard to crank up & down but was doable. After only using it about 6times,the day of a party planned, the CHEAP CLOTH STRING which raises and lower the umbrealla broke. It was only a thin string/rope holding up the heavy large umbrella!!! What a WASTE of money. Referring back to reviews I see this is appears to be a Problem for others who purchased this umbrella. HD customer
service has always been great, hope they can help me in this situation.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AndyO Very nice umbrella - but did end up snapping in strong wind
We loved this umbrella for the year we had it. It provides great shade and looks very nice. I will mention that about a year into its life, strong wind snapped the pole. I really shouldn't have had it open during the windy day, but just wanted to mention it as it's not totally rough and tough durable.

Do not buy this umbella. Raised it up maybe 3 times and the rope broke. It neeeds to be remade with a much heavier rope. Even pushed the umbrella up itself when raising it up but the rope still broke.
