These fans arrived quickly and were easy to install. We bought two of them, one for our guest bedroom and one for the office. Both were installed at the same time and the office fan is completely silent at all speeds while the one in the guest room has a very faint tick. Most likely just a wire not tucked fully into the light kit. The fans came with CFL bulbs but one of them burned out in a matter of minutes. Not a big deal and probably just damage that occurred during shipping. The light kits on the fans are very nice and throw a good amount of light. Overall they are exactly what we were looking for.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by HMHB Just needed a solution for a few months before having a kitchen renovation done, so went cheap. A mistake. This is a badly engineered model. To flush-mount require removing every other of 6 pre-installed screws, two of which were tightened down to an extent that they couldn't be removed with a regular or ratchet phillips--they stripped, and because they were adjacent, it was impossible to follow the "remove every-other-screw" pattern. Rather than messing around drilling one of the stuck screws out, decided to mount with the stem instead of flush. Also, like many fans, the wires were too long and needed some care to fit into the cup, but these were so excessive that it was just easier to cut and strip them. Once up, just fine (except for the surprisingly ugly glass shades). But not worth the extra time to work around poorly designed parts. Maybe not an issue for builders, but too much unnecessary wasted time for this homeowner who's previously installed half-a-dozen ceiling fans--three of which were higher-priced models from this manufacturer that were purchased several years ago. I've installed basic light kits often enough this wasn't a problem, but really, if a fan comes with a kit, it might be nice for first-timers if the instructions weren't basically limited to "install the light kit." Just sloppy all around. It's a cheapie, but could have had the same results with a super-basic the cost $25 less.

Very nice looking and very quiet. The lights that come with the fan are very bright and light up the whole room, so it makes it nice for a bedroom. My boyfriend installed it and had previous knowledge of installing ceiling fans and he found it fairly easy. I liked it so much ordered two more for my other bedrooms.

This fan makes all kinds of strange noises. I installed 6 fans on this particular day, this was the ONLY one to have issues. This fan was the only one that was significantly out of balance and this one made strange grinding noises. Next step is to contact home depot and see if they can refund the item. The fan price was good and the appearance was decent but there is a serious flaw with the unit I received.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by D456 Never order this ceiling fan!
Please don't ever buy this Westmount ceiling fan unless you want the pale blue blades that come with it, instead of proper matte white ones. I only ordered this online because they don't carry 44" white ceiling fans with 3-lights in the stores. Not a happy customer, at all.

I bought three of these because this product still takes a standard lightbulb.
Two are great. One sounds like it has something loose and rubbing/grinding in the motor housing. It is fairly loud.

This fan with light is better than expected. Installation was easy, no missing or broken parts and directions were good . Light uses regular size light bulbs which gives me good light when i need it.
