Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The BEST Ceiling Fan Ever This is the second Windward fan that I have purchased. It is not available in the stores so you need to order in online and it is worth the couple of days to wait for it. It is quiet and best of all it has a thermostat that works perfect. The remote makes it so easy to turn on/off, set the temp, turn on/off the light and reverse the fan! I did have it professionally installed in my new sunroom ~ It was up in a couple of minutes without any complaints. I can't say enough about this fan. It is so much bang for the buck! July 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your time or money. I received the fan in record time and installed it - with help, it was too heavy and no lip to rest the fan while wiring - it took two of us. Directions were poor at best. This is my 13 fan install so I have some experience. After installation, I turned on the fan which had only warp speed. I could not turn off the fan with the remote. Checked to make sure the remote and receiver were coded the same - they were. I called the 800 need help number enclosed in the box only to be told I had a bad receiver and they were sending out another as well as a globe that arrived cracked. I was emailed instructions on how to remove and install the receiver on the fan - which meant - Yes, I had to take it down and reinstall the fan. When I complained, I was told that was not their problem , I was talking to the Hampton Bay Hot line. Since I live alone, I had to find someone to help me. It took 9 nine days for the receiver to arrive and my nephew, a Licensed AC man pulled the old fan down , put in the new receiver and put it back up. - I turned on the fan - - Nothing - Zip. We took the fan back down and checked the electrical which was fine. We reinstalled this same fan a THIRD time t and turned it on. Still nothing. I emailed Home Depot and have yet to get any response.. I finally called the complaint line and spoke to an employee - who assured me I have another bad receiver and they were going to resend another back out. She also assured me when I received it Home depot would send an employee out to fix and install the fan again. Really - third time is the charm? Since when is it the consumer's responsibility to fix a faulty item and spent their time and effort for three attempts? Apparently Hampton Fan and Home Depot do. Not Happy with anything, product, or the customer service I have yet to receive.. May 26, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed results We hired an electrician to put in the fan. The first fan had an electrical problem and the light would not turn off. In looking at the internet, this seems to be a recurring problem. That meant we had to order another fan, wait for it to be delivered and then have the electrician come back to reinstall the fan. In the end, the electrician visits cost us more than the fan. I really like the look of the fan. And the remote with the thermostat is a great feature. But be warned if you purchase this fan that quite a few of them have quality issues. The Home Depot helpline was not very helpful in resolving this. The option to have another fan sent doesn't help at all with the cost of the second electrician's visit and all of the time it takes to arrange all of this and be home for both installations. The entire experience left a bad taste. June 15, 2015

Tried to replace the ballast and then the transmitter/receiver malfunctioned, such that the light would not turn off. Had to call a second electrician to reinstall a different fan. Having read similar reviews about the wiring and light in particular, I would not take chances with getting a good fan with this model. June 11, 2015

Friends who visit our beach house have purchased this same ceiling fan after used them and enjoyed its performance. The design is also very appealing. I have purchased my first WINDWARD 54 IN. WHITE CEILING FAN for over 10 years. Throughout this period of time I have never had to repair any of them. I can still purchase the remote control on line. March 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fans!! Bought this model of fan a few years ago to try it out at my last home. Bought 6 more now that I have built a new home and love them. They work great.. Turn on automatically once set temperature is reached. Only regret is the lights in the new ones are not dimmable like the previous models but other than that no problems. Installation is easy and can be done by one person. Will buy again if the price remains competitive. April 7, 2015
