Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by rr76012 Windward II 54 in. White Ceiling Fan - Works well, nice design, many pros, no negatives...
I like the design of the fan, example: to reverse the blade directions counter-clockwise to clockwise directions, in other words from the winter to summer. All you have to do is push the reverse button on the remote control. The remote control has been designed with the end user in mind, very smart. No need to get a ladder to toggle any switches located on the fan housing. The fan is quiet, energy star rated, remote controls turns on the light, and reverse directions feature of the fan ect... I am not a very good handy man around the house, but I tackled the job of installing the fan myself, and it works. I especially love the lifetime warranty feature. That means they stand behind their product.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Johnny Great, efficient fan but problems with wireless remote receiver
The fan was easy enough to install. However nothing in the instructions said what to do with the 4-inch remote receiver antenna wire. It didn't respond well initially under the metal fan enclosure so I pulled it out to expose it and the fan worked perfectly for a week. Then suddenly the fan stopped working on low speed setting and ran at low speed when set to medium. It continued to run normal (fast) at the high speed setting. I got quick customer service from the installation help phone number. They surmised a faulty remote receiver unit and promised to ship me a replacement receiver with installation instructions. Hopefully it will solve the problem.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fan2 Purchase of this fan was to replace a like model that had a defective light that I spent over $30 trying to repair.
We liked the style of the fan and wanted to replace the defective one with a like model. It was easy to install as some of the original brackets were left in place.

Much nicer look than the old fashioned 3 light ceiling fans. Runs nicely.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Radek Great idea but noisy.
The whole idea of the thermostat / timer controlled ceilling fan is great.
However the engine is noisy in the way you can hear the "electrical humming" , specially when in slow speed!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SRS412 It took some doing, result totally worth it!!
The fan was well packaged and no parts were damaged in shipping. Because I was replacing a similar fan, the installation was straightforward - simply the reverse of un-installing the existing fan.
Fan quality is excellent - the motor assembly feels really solid. There is even a plastic trim ring to hide the canopy retention screws, nice touch, and I really like the way the fan looks. There was a small learning curve with the remote, but it's really quite handy with both thermostatic and timer functions. Also the light on the fan is bright enough for our purposes - sadly there is no backlight on the remote.
Unfortunately, the fan initially produced an annoying 60-cycle hum while the motor was running - fortunately, customer service was able to resolve the problem after one false start and my having to un-install and re-install the fan a couple of times.
On my initial call for help the Customer Service Rep (CSR) suggested installing a noise isolating pad between the fan mount and ceiling. This meant a completely uninstallating the fan, placing the pad, and re-installating the fan - a couple of hours of work, not counting the time it took to track down and acquire the pad. And the fix didn't work - the hum was still there.
So I called customer service again (the phone was answered automatically, but I was able to reach a human CSR within a minute or so each of the three times I called) and this time the CSR suggested replacing the receiver for the remote control.
It took five business days for the parts to arrive (surprisingly both a new receiver and a new remote were in the package), but when they did the replacement was straightforward taking perhaps ten minutes after the fan was un-installed, of course. I should note that the receiver antenna should be routed up the center of the support rod - the remote works fine with that arrangement and the placement of the antenna is not specifically addressed in the user guide.
Re-installed the fan, again (getting pretty good at it now) and, voila, no hum; a wonderful outcome.
Given that our last Hampton Bay fan lasted over fifteen years, I look forward to years of service from this one and customer service deserves a shout out for solving the problem.
