We already had a windward III of undeterminable age, it finally gave up. This one was in stock at home depot, went up like a breeze (pun intended). We had originally wanted white, but the stainless steel look is excellent. 'looking forward to replacing several other old dogs with these slick units.
Definitely would recommend this fan to others looking for an energy efficient, quiet, classy, good looking, did I mention quiet?.. Get one or two... they're grrrreeat.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gerry Stylish and modern looking fan
This was my second fan of this style. Love the modern looks and remote control for temperature and light control. Well written instructions for easy installation.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sean Good fan and thermostat system, instructions ok
Love fans and thermostatic feature. Installed two fans the first one I assembled and removed everything on the ground before I put it up and that definately helped.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SusieQ Great find
This ceiling fan was easy to install and has absolutely NO wobble - it is soundless! The bulbs in the light fixture will be easy to replace - no tools needed when climbing the ladder and no screws to drop and/or lose. Feels wonderful and keeps me cool, even on 90+ days!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ephie Attractive fan at a reasonable price
This fan is simple, attractive and can really move some air. We rarely use the highest speed as it can be too much for the room. The fan was also very easy to install. Our one complaint is that the only way to adjust the fan speed is via remote control. Same thing with turning the lights off but leaving the fan on, your only option is to use the remote. I didn't realize that the streamlined look I loved was missing the normal dual pulls to adjust these things. We came up with a solution for a convenient place for the remote but it still only runs on batteries. That's my only complaint. Oh and it's also really quiet which is nice.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Liz Very poor light
The only problem for me with this fan is the lightning. You can only use the bulbs that came with it and it is very dark. Although I love the fan and I not happy because it it not bright enough. It is in my living room and I have to turn another light on to be able to read. My husband thinks that it is an expensive fan with almost no lighting. He would not be happy if I asked him to take it down so I could return it and get a fan at least as bright as the one that I removed to put this one up which was nice and bright. Althiugh it is beautiful, I regret buying it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by alo Very satisfied.
Has the look we wanted in our master bedroom. Nice and quiet with great airflow. We've adjusted to the remote which we've decided to mount next to the wall switches. Can't use one without the other, so having the remote by the bed hasn't been practical for us. The installation was incredibly frustrating. Not designed for DIY people. My husband has installed at least 4 other fans, and none were so difficult. Be prepared to spend the better part of the day trying to get it up. We discussed returning it to the store, but didn't really want to have to go through a whole new learning experience with another fan. The easiest part was screwing in the light bulbs and the glass cover. That was a breeze.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Somps Change to a 2amp fuse - most bad reviews because of light and/or fuse issue
The fan pushes a lot of air. It looks nice. Most ceiling fan light combos have poor lighting. I have bought 2 others from the same family of fans. Nobody tells you and I don't know why the company doesn't change out the fuses, but anytime you hear about a fan with remote having problems, not just this brand, it's because of the fuse. They give you a 1.5 amp fuse when they should be putting in a 2 amp fuse. A few of the phone support guys know about this while a majority don't know, but I knew about this when I purchased and Home Depot gave me 2 2amp fuse at no charge. Never had a problem with them, so I did the same with this and works great. Not the best lighting. Not sure why they all put in such low light fixtures. I heard an electrician say he would never buy a fan with remote. He said mine would die in two weeks. Its been a year for the first one, 3 months for the second one and a couple of weeks for the third one. NO problems at all with any of them and whisper quiet pushing lots of air. I would recommend these fans if you don't care so much about the light, but DO ask for a 2 amp fuse. I almost gave it a 3 because of the lighting and the company not using a 2 amp fuse from the start, but this is a great fan. Also, I've seen so many people not install the fan properly. If you have parts left over, you didn't install it correctly. Yes, that includes the seal/ ring. I don't know what to call it, but if you don't use it, don't complain if you have problems. I've seen handymen have left over parts and you ask why and they say you don't need them. Well, that's when you have problems. Install it correctly and it will work. One fan in large kitchen on a flat ceiling, one in living room on a sloped ceiling, and one in a bedroom with flat ceiling.
