As the other reviews have said, this item looks nice, but is of bad quality all the way around. The metal frame was bent coming right out of the box, the instructions are unclear and don't even mention the tabs to hold the plastic diffuser in the frame as just one example. The light does come out the top and the 'tape' they provide very likely would not fix this issue. I really wish I had come home and looked at this reviews and NOT bought this item, but I need to do something and I already had this about 50% up before I regretted buying it. On the good side, the 4 T8 bulbs are very bright and one gets a lot of light from it, but I would choose something else.

This is without a doubt the worst light fixture I have ever installed - and I have installed pletny over the last 40 years. The picture looks good, but the fixture is made of the flimsiest material - welds came lose, frame was bent, lens didn't match up to frame. Poorly built and poorly designed. Instructions for assembly fail to mention use for foam tape and lens retainer clips - a joke. Worst of all is the lens and frame attach with two screws on each end of the fixture which means one person cannot install the lens (usually there is a clip or hinge on sides, but with this fixture, there is no place to attach except the ends) so you need TWO people on TWO ladders just to install the lens - or remove it to replace lamps when they need changing. Absurd. If I could, I would have taken it back for a refund.

I concur with those who said that the build quality, ease of installation and instructions for this unit are poor. The lens does not come close to fitting withinside the frame, and the instructions fail to explain how the lens is mounted to the frame (Hint: you bend the tabs over). They supply foam tape which they don't say what it is for but have you apply it to the inside of the frame. My guess it is to seal light from leaking from where the frame meets the ceiling (which it does, a lot), but there is no way it could. 7 of the 8 bulb recepticles were broken off requiring me to epoxy them back into place. I would have returned this unit if I could have but wasn't able to under the circumstances.

I do not recommend buying this light. It is overvalued and cheaply built.
1. The body of the frame does not seal to the ceiling so light escapes where it is not suppose to . This is because the there is not a frame/body for the plastic light cover to attach. Thus the reason they've thrown in a piece of foam tape with separate instructions. It doesn't work.
2. The metal frame which wraps around the plastic light cover does not fit well and the metal frame is very flimsy.
3. The instructions make little sense. You basically have to figure out how to install it yourself.
4. The metal frame is not painted completely. You can see bare metal near the four corners when looking up at the light.
5. Overpriced. This light should sell for half of the price Home Depot is asking.
6. The bulbs are not included and are sold separately.
Folks. Save your money on this one and choose something else.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dobbs very flimsy not worth the money Has design problems
I just finished an installation on this. This top of the light does not have an enclosure except for the ballast and wire area.
They give you a 1/16" x 3/4" weatherstrip to stick to the inner side of the cover frame so light will not emit out of the frame at the ceiling (it just plain does not work right and was an afterthought of trying to correct a poor design) What I mean is light emits out of the irregularities of where the case frame meets the ceiling. If this does not bother you the flimsiness of the frame and cover will.--

A relatively attractive fixture which needs 2 installers and a smooth ceiling. This is the first fixture in 23 years of home improvements I am taking back due to absolutely poor design and foreseeable maintenance issues. Supplied anchors - junk and insufficient. With the right bulbs, it is very bright which attracts bugs here in the country. Which is fine, but since it does not fit tight against the ceiling, (did I mention light shines out on all sides at the ceiling?) it will fill up fast. Can't caulk it, unless you want to mess up your ceiling next time you need to change bulbs or clean it. Did anyone mention flimsy???? This belongs at the Dollar store, not even at Wal-mart especially for the price.

Junk period. Seems like this was thought out as if you were placing it at waist level. Have 9' ceiling and they expected two under sized drywall screws to hold in place. Plastic glass was cracked and trying to put cover on is two person job. Would not recommend this product. Once finally up though it is bright and looks nice.
