Opened package to find scraped and marred globe. Packaging could be better. Easy to install.
Damages to globe covered with a white paint and aren't readily noticeable although I know they are there. Priced higher than most the others. Not sure if it's worth the extra to get the mahogany trim.

I ordered 2 of these fixtures and have gotten one installed. I wish I had kept the box because I would take both of the fixtures back.
I am in utter disbelief that Hampton Bay would manufacture such a total piece of cheap junk! The brown, metal frame is softer than an aluminum can! The metal detail work on the ends have no rigidity and WILL bend when you touch them in your attempt to install the frame. The white cover sits FREELY inside the frame.....no way to secure it inside frame. Imagine what happens when you try to lift the frame with the light cover inside it upward to the ceiling. The only place you can touch the frame is on the edges otherwise you will push the cover out of place and the frame falls down. It is absolutely a must to have 2 people installing this cheap contraption. $134.00 for this?!! I'd still be upset if I'd spent even half that on this thing. Also you will need 2 people when it comes time to change a bulb. Let's hope the bulbs last 8 years like the box says they will. As a widow with a 9 yr old, a fixture that requires at least 2 adults to remove/replace the cover isn't a good option.
There is nothing positive to say about this light fixture. The quality is the worst I've ever seen & I've done lots of remodeling & DIY.
So fair warning.....do yourself a huge favor & don't buy this fixture! I would give it NO stars if I could.

WE BOUGHT THIS LIGHT TO REPLACE AN OLD 2 LIGHT FIXTURE. THE BASE WAS EASY ENOUGH TO INSTALL EVEN WITH OUR 10 FOOT CEILINGS. I HAD SOME TROUBLE INSTALLING THE COVER. IT WOULDN'T LINE UP RIGHT WITHOUT TWO PEOPLE, (1 TO HOLD IT IN PLACE THE SECOND TO START THE SCREWS ON ONE END AND THEN MOVE OVER TO THE OTHER END FOR THOSE SCREWS). HAD ONE SCREW THAT I HAD TO USE PLIERS TO SCREW IN AS IT WAS VERY TIGHT TO START. ONCE INSTALLED IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND BRIGHTENS UP THE KITCHEN.

This light looks great and gives off nice even light, but the lens cover was a pain to install and I dread having to change the bulbs down the road. In lieu of your typical lift and remove type lens, this fixture has two decorative screws on each end of this 4' wide light therefore the screws have to be removed while standing in the middle of the fixture and reaching over blind and removing the screws. This is not an issue for removal, however it is inconvenient. But how in the heck do you put the screws back in!!? I had to screw in one side and let lens hang down then slide over to other side of light and screw in. i did not like have to flex the lens and decorative metal accents and holding the 4' lens from one side is not easy either. Bad design on the screws. Please let me know if i'm missing something...
