I bought this for my daughter for her 3rd birthday and it was a hit! I was going to build a playhouse from scratch, but quickly realized I do not have the time, and it probably would be more expensive. Overall I was very happy with this kit. Like others, I too had warped 2x4's, but not a big deal. I used 3 inch screws instead of the supplied nails which helps with the warped boards , and is easier to fix if you later find out you used the wrong board or did not measure correctly (not all of my boards had the letter stamp on them. My kit came with a instruction book that was pretty straight forward ( the roof drip edge and the front door weather stripping were the only two areas I could not figure out in the instruction book)
I added a few extras like side windows to help with air circulation, extra 2x4's on the floor for more support, electrical service, 3 light fixtures and air conditioning (I'm in Florida), I insulated and dry walled the interior and added laminate flooring. I also used a "screen door" door knob instead of the supplied magnets and handle.
Bottom line is... I had a lot of fun building it, and my daughter loves playing in it, so everybody is happy.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SuperMomLives This 'lil house of mine
This sweet play house is all that it looks to be - charming and roomy. However it is really a build from scratch project great for anyone with real construction know-how. There is no way that my not-so-handy husband and I could have built it on our own. We hired an experienced home builder and it took him three days to complete. The Handy Home Products company will happliy construct the house in a day for a very reasonable price. If I had it to do over again that is what I would do. Ask them about construction options when they contact you to schedule delivery.
We also purchased eight concrete risers to raise the house for protection from the elements. These are an inexpensive measure recommended by a friend who has had to raise her play house twice. The shingles required for the roof cost an additional $100 to $200 depending on the style you choose.
The windows have screens and work beautifully. We purchased an additional small window, shutters and window box. We may add another set before too long. The large backdoor allows it to be used as a great storage shed. The front door is a bit flimsy. Since we are using it as a play house we will be reinforcing the door. Overall it is excellent and sturdy and I highly recommend this play house! My kids love it!!!

My husband and his friends had a ball painting and assembling this surprise for our daughter (in one day)!
Our children are 10 and 6 - the size of this playhouse fits them both easily and doesn't take up too much of the yard.
This is exactly what we were hoping for and are pleased with the price, as we couldn't have created this on our own if buying supplies from the lumber yard.
I was glad to have downloaded and printed the instruction manual online since the delivery man showed up with no paperwork.
We started with a level block base to keep the wooden floor off of the ground. - it worked great.
We chose a tin roof that went up smoothly and looks great.
Kids and adults are all pleased with this product!

I had researched many playhouses in both prefab and kit forms before choosing this product. THe price was very attractive and shipping was free. Still, I was skeptical about buy a kit to build a playhouse. I was pleasantly surprised. The kit had all of the parts and hardware required to build and everything was identified. The plans were easy to follow. The area of installing the front door weather stripping and installing shingles could be better defined. There was actually extra nails and screws in the kit, so there were no extra trips to the store for more. A couple of the 2X4s were warped. I added paneling, vinyl tiles and painted the inside. My grand daughter and her friends are enjoying it quite a bit.

Having pre-cut pieces was very nice and made the house easy to put together. Some of the materials provided though were a bit warped so those were difficult to place. Even though many pieces are pre-primed, only the fronts are and many of the sides and ends needed to be painted so we had to prime those areas on our own.
We didn't find a problem with the roof instructions like the other reviewer. However, we did choose to install a ridge vent in the roof. And we ordered 2 extra windows to install one on each side in order for better air circulation and light (windows are the "small square" ones by Handy Home also available at homedepot.com), as the house is intended for our 2 children to play inside. It's a good size and with the steep pitch on the roof, adults can stand comfortably inside.

This house didn't take much time to put together, approximately 3-4 days with two guys working on it at once. The instructions were pretty easy to read and the house is a decent size. The directions for buiding the roof needed to be modified, but other than that, the house is great.

Great shed/playhouse. IT took my husband and I, 2 days to assemble it, definately not 8 hour days though. We still haven't put the shingles on or painted it, but it was pretty easy to get together. The instructions were very easy to follow.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Carol My grandkids love this playhouse.
this playhouse is adorable! The way that it is designed makes it every child's fantasy, my only complaint would be that it needs a couple of windows on each side so there is a cross breeze which I am having installed. Otherwise, it is really, every child's dream. My grandchildren love it. The construction seems very solid and I believe it will hold up for many years. At least, until my grandchildren are grown. I love the design and the gingerbread in the front. It looks like something you would see in a storybook. Very cute, window boxes and all.
