Answer:
I'm handy, but not a pro. It took me less than a week to build the kit. I did it mostly alone, I only needed some help in erecting the assembled walls. Shingling and painting took me about another week not including a few days of weather delays.

Yes, Pressure treated 2X4's. They supply enough for a 16" on center floor. I purchased a few treated 2X4's to make it a 12" on center floor..

2x3 - don;t think they are pressure treated. Do yourself a favor, upgrade the side floor frame to 12 foot pieces. The setup comes with a 4 foot and 8 foot piece for that span.

The Majestic comes complete with a 2x4 treated floor frame. To complete the floor, simply purchase 3 sheets of 4x8 decking. You can choose between OSB or pressure-treated plywood. These materials an be purchased separately at Home Depot.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 161 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just a tip A number of other reviews commented on warped boards. I took the time to drive to the 4 Home Depots in my area until I found a store that stored them in an overhead covered area and away from prevailing winds. Even though the shed is wrapped in plastic, the plastic gets damaged via handling. With no chance of rain or snow accumulation on the shed while it sat waiting to be purchased, mine had only a single board that showed any significant warping. I recommended this shed but only if you have realistic expectations about the quality of the materials. The door in particular seems like it is going to be particularly susceptible to water damage over time. I didn't change the color much from the primer color so ended up overbuying a gallon of paint based on the directions. Boxes of screws were not included in the kit despite the directions. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Majestic is a "Cluster" and not what a true carpenter would build! I realize that it was built on the cheap...so we wouldn't have to pay more for it. The floor and side walls (except for the use of 4'+8' boards instead of 12' for the horizontals) seemed steady; the lack of full frames for the front and rear were ridiculous! The whole thing relied on the inner shelves and "loft" to hold it together. The building steps and recommendations lacked forethought...not recommending the use of caulk on ALL the wall seams when the wallboards are not finished on the edges is negligent...WE sealed them anyway! The "batten" strips are not sealed on the edges. When using cms for measurements as well as inches WOULD have worked, if written correctly...it is "1'point'3" (1.3) NOT "1'comma'3" (1,3). It was extremely difficult to put the roof up while the loft boards were in place. It would have been easier with the frame only! The recommendations for what to buy in addition to the items shipped...NEVER mentioned the 12' treated 4x4s. I don't know HOW the pros do it when people pay to have Home Dept build it instead of relying on my husband's carpentry skills. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value The storage shed was easy to assemble parts fiit the way they should, the only draw back was the roof rafters were a little warped. Overall a great value and I am completely satisfied. May 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Love this shed. The finished product is awesome. There was only one warped board we couldn't use. I did buy 2 12 ft 2x4 treated boards for the bottom side walls. I bought extra screws to attach the siding. I special ordered the red metal roof materials. Everything was in the kit, including the nails and screws. I hired 2 guys to build it. The finished product with all the extras and the labor came to apx. $1800.00 April 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good shed but lots of hidden costs I purchased this kit trying to save a little money by building it myself. After all was said and done I spent a lot more than the advertised price I paid for it! First off you have the choice to have it delivered or to pick it up from a store for free. The price was $899 on the website and the delivery charge was $199. When I looked for one to pick up from the store, there was one across town, but the price was then $999 when I selected to pick it up in the store. I ended up going with the delivery option, annoyed that I had to pay $100 extra dollars just to pick it up myself across town. I did a little research before-hand, but it is not obvious at all what is actually not included in the kit, but once you have the kit delivered you still need to purchase everything on the following list just to start: • Any tools you may not already have, including a square, tin Snips, chalk Line and shingle blades for utility knife • Pea Gravel (I used two, 40lb bags) • Solid Masonry Blocks (I used eleven, 4" blocks and twelve 2" bricks) • Stakes for leveling • Masonry Twine • 4"x4"x12' Treated Lumber • 3" Screws Exterior grade (1 Box) • 5/8 x 48 x 96" (5/8" OSB) Oriented Strand Board (x3) • 2" Hot Dipped Galvanized Box-Type Nails (1 Lb) • 3-Tab Shingles (5 Bundles) • Drip Edge (50 Feet) • #15 Roofing Felt (To cover 122 sq ft.) • 1" Galvanized Roofing Nails (4 lbs) For laying down shingles • 2 Gallons Exterior Paint • Acrylic latex exterior paintable caulk (3 Tubes) • 3" Nails (3 Boxes) • 2" Nails (4 boxes) • 1 Quart Trim Paint • Exterior rated wood glue I also decided to add a few extra items to the shed for functionality. • The doors swung back and forth when they are open, so I added some extra latches to hold them open. • I also added gutters and a rain barrel All in all, I spent another $650 on everything extra. So be aware that you're actually spending $1800.00 for the shed and other materials and then on top of that all the time and labor to put it up. That was about double what I was expecting to pay. Still less expensive that a lot of comparable sheds, but the hidden costs and gotchas gave me a bad experience. The shed itself went together relatively easily. I spent two evenings leveling out the site and prepping the location before the shed was delivered and then I was able to frame up the walls by myself in a full day once the kit came. It was delivered on a skid and was about 4'x8' by 3' tall and a little over 1200lbs. I don't have a construction background but the instructions were clear and I followed them step by step. Everything fit together really well and nothing was missing that was supposed to be there. I had three neighbors come over and they helped me assemble the rest of the shed. You'll need at least two people, but I would recommend three. We got the shed up in a full day. I spend a third day finishing the shingles and the roof and another day painting. April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice shed for the money. First off i plan on using this shed for a man cave of sorts but it has lots of possibility for other things. Now to the build, i built mine in 2 days with mimial help ( just to place walls. ) I will suggest that you purchase 6 2"x3"x12' to make floor and wall frame solid. If you want a stronger floor be prepared to add more flooring joist. You will also need to buy 3 sheets of sub flooring, preferably 7/16" thick at minimum. I used osb board. Also 5 packs of 3 tab shingles will be needed for the roof. Over all its a good shed for the money, just be prepared to spend about another 200$ on extras. I would recommend it for whatever your use. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HORRIBLE! DO NOT BUY! This shed is horrible. A lot of the boards come warped and the wood is too soft. It cracks way to easy when putting in the screws. The rafters were the worst part. They are supposed to be 96" across. Mine were 94". I had to use shims which is a horrible idea! The only reason I haven't asked for my money back and returned the shed is that I barely made it work and I desperately need a shed. June 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A good roomy storage shed. Once built this she is quite nice and I feel very sturdy. Yes it uses it's loft and workbench as structural support. Who cares? It's assembled and very sound. However- there are a few things to be aware of and look out for during assembly: 1) make sure your 2x4s are not warped. Having a warped one will create issues with making things level and/or straight. (we had one 2x4 that had some pretty good bend to it. We used it, but in a place where it didn't greatly affect things). 2) PRE-DRILL holes for the 3" screws. I've read several reviews here that say their wood cracked or splintered when screwing together. THE INSTRUCTIONS DON'T SAY ANYTHING abot pre-drilling, but it's a good practice to do so to eliminate such issues. 3) The instructions ARE NOT the best written "how-to assemble" directions I've ever read, but they are also not the worst (that honor goes to just abut anything from IKEA), and it's really important to look carefully at the pictures to insure you understand what the text is trying to tell you. if you can- DOWNLOAD THE INSTRUCTIONS from the on-line source as they are different than the ones included with the shed kit. I think they are updated on-line. 4) CAULK EVERY SEAM, EVEN IF THE DIRECTIONS DON'T TELL YOU TO. 5) CAULK EVERY SEAM, EVEN IF THE DIRECTIONS DON'T TELL YOU TO. Yes- I know I said that twice. That would be a HINT. 6) Apply a minimum of TWO COATS of paint once assembled. Don't rush to put it together. Take your time and it will likely give you years of extended service. June 17, 2016
