Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by quite satisfied with product I needed additional storage in my yard. I quickly filled up my 8'x6' garden shed and needed something extra. I decided I wanted a greenhouse but it wasn't practical for all my needs. The solar shed met both my need for storage and my desire for a greenhouse. I hired someone to build it and was told the directions were clear and concise. I'm quite pleased overall with the quality of the shed, my only dilemma is what color to paint it!! June 1, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I used a professional carpenter to put this shed up. He insulated and sheetrocked it, making it sound and moisure proof. I had a professional carpenter build this shed for me. After alot of caulking, he insulated it and sheetrocked it to make it sound and moisure proof. I love It.!! He also put a foundation under with pier blocks. We also switched out the door, since the one that comes with the kit was a bit flimsy. This shed is a great deal if you want a nice looking shed, but you need to know what you are doing, the instructions are not always complete. But it looks great in my backyard, is the right size and very attractive and comfy. It arrived on time, all materials there except for three boards that were damaged. Customer Service called and had me send in the receipts for the replacements. Again, I am very happy! I ordered it online, asked for a 'promo code' and got 10% off. Used the savings to buy the blinds that go with it. Delivery to my door was free! I did alot of research before buying it and this was the best for price, look, and assembly. February 14, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent shed and easy to put up I installed the shed on a concrete pad (I poured this a week before putting up the shed). The dimensions were exact. The shed went up in one day with the help of 5 guys. Make sure you put the roof rafters together correctly or the windows will not fit. That was our only error but was quickly resolved. The instructions for putting up the door weren't extremely clear but after about 1 hour of looking at the instructions and some 'dry' runs of hanging the door, it went up flawlessly. Make sure you put up the trim before hanging the door and putting the roof flashing on. If you put on the flashing before the trim, then the flashing won't be aligned properly (it will be behind the trim). This shed is the easiest shed I've put together (this was also the same comment from all the helpers). The instructions are clear, and the shed is quite sturdy and materials are quite good. Drawback is that storage isn't as much as I thought if you actually use the greenhouse feature. Greenhouse feature will limit the ability to store items in the shed. But it will work for my family. I would recommend this shed to anyone who wants some storage along with a great greenhouse. September 8, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 10 X 8 Phoenix Soloar Greenhouse Purchased Phoenix Soloar Storage Building 10 X 8. Well designed, easy to assemble, looks good. Excellent for handymen with poor carpentry skills. If you can follow directions on a page, you can build this. Only problem I had was that the biggest sheet of plywood was damaged in shipment. I bought another for $10 at home depot.. December 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The kit was delivered on time and was pretty easy to set up. The kit was packaged pretty well and was fairly easy to put together. Some of the wood ended up twisting and warping but went together after a little working with it March 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product. The greenhouse arrived with all parts complete and intact. Despite the fact that I had never undertaken a similar project before, I was able to assemble it with few problems. I am very happy with this purchase. October 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice product The solar greenhouse shed was easy to build. Some of the material was warped butI was able to make it all work with some minor modifications. It will take two people at times to erect the shed. My wife was able to help me set trusses hold one end of the sideing as I did the nailing. July 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great shed/greenhouse! I just finished putting together this shed/greenhouse this weekend and I'm very impressed. It's solid, very roomy, and goes together easily. One nice feature is that the rafters all have a 1/2" hole in their gussets for you to run a copper or plastic pipe through to hang plants (the pipe isn't included.) You can't really add this after it's built, so pick up eight feet of 1/2" pipe with the kit. I only ran into a couple of small problems: The 2x6 short wall header was 1/2 inch shorter then it was suppose to be and one of the joist spacers was cut crooked. Luckily I had some spare wood pieces laying around to fix that. Also, the description doesn't mention that you need to order your own drip edges - you need 60 feet worth (6 pcs.) You need to install the drip edges before installing the windows so don't put off buying the drip edges until you get the rest of the roofing material like I did - order them along with the kit. Some other tips: The end walls (the 10' sides) have their footer plates split in two pieces (page 11 of the instructions.) The join of these two pieces doesn't meet on a stud and thus are pretty flimsy until you get the wall nailed to the sill plate. Use a scrap piece of 1x4 or 2x4 to bridge the footer to help stiffen it up. The instructions mention that glue is optional on the rafter gussets - in my option it should be mandatory. It will easily double the strength of those trusses. One tube of liquid nails or an 8 oz bottle of wood glue is all you need. If you want to glue all of the paneling to the studs for additional strength like I did, plan on getting a total of 5 tubes of liquid nail adhesive. The roof trusses are only tied to the tall wall with two screws. If you live in a high wind area pick up three rafter ties (search for "H2.5 Hurricane Tie") for 30 cents each for extra piece of mind. Grab an extra 2 pieces per 4' extension you buy as well. Lastly, do your elbow a favor and rent a nail gun and air compressor. Hammering close to 800 nails by hand is very tiring. A box of 500 2" galvanized ring shank nails, and 500 galvanized 3 1/2" nails is what you'll need. This kit is delivered in a 4' x 8' x 2' bundle on a skid and weighs about 1000 lbs. I also ordered the 4' windowed extension with it and they strapped it to the top of the main kit. That added 4' x 8' x 6" of height and weighed about 200 lbs more. Hope all this information helps!
