These sheds may not meet FL code for hurricanes, but in 2004 when 8 hit the state, to include Tallahassee, the shed I built withstood the wind, rain, and a huge tree falling on it. It sustained no damage!!! I moved in 08, but I bet it is still standing!!!
I sealed the entire inside and outside with durable, paintable, calking. I placed more supports between the truss and the wall plates. Before I built the floor, I made 1'x1'x(2"x4"# form, poured 1cf of concrete, as the concrete cured I had placed metal straps into the concrete and wrapped this metal over the sub floor joist. I placed 1 at each corner, the joist was 90 degree centered over the concrete block. 1 was placed between the 4 corner posts. I then evenly placed more blocks under the rest of the floor joists and attached them in the same fashion. I placed the flooring with metal tabs extending outward so that I could wrap them around the bottom plate of the walls. I built the walls, secured the straps, and then placed the siding. I used hurricane straps of different types to attach studs, bottom plates, top plates, and corner studs. The doors were also reinforced. I prepped the ground with pesticide, herbicide, and mothballs-keeps snakes out. You can pour an entire concrete floor, but that is very expensive and it isn't necessary! Go to HD and research the extras you can do to build your building. Plan it out and your building will work well for you!! EVEN IN FLORIDA!!!!!!! I used 9 12x 12 inch cement blocks from the "Depot". Watch the you tube videos and see how some people have done theirs.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Was not worth the money If you are capable of stick building a shed from scratch I recommend that instead. By the time I improved the design I would have been better off doing it from scratch. The walls are 2x4 but the wood is not the best quality and footers and headers have to pieced together. The rafters are 16" on center but I added to make mine 12" to help stop warpage from snow load. I added 2x4 in each corner and at the door frame. All of the siding trim is pressed wood. I also reinforced the doors. October 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by last time doing this Overall a good product. A precut was shorter than others, not a big deal but should not be. The instructions are very bad. Be careful of wall door spacing of studs. It was showing left edge of stud to center of next stud, than center of that to edge of next. Missed that and had to redo. Building (still) has been a lot more time spent than planned. Will NEVER do this again, pay the extra 500 and get a finished one! November 26, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Option The product is a good solution primarily for the dimensions of the product. The extra work necessary to shingle and paint is a drawback. The ability to choose the roof and paint colors does have its positive side allowing the building to appear coordinated with the home rather than stick out like a sore thumb and out of place. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not What I expected This arrived after a few days as scheduled. This comspany makes these kits in several sizes so the peices you get start small and then you have to add on...for example mine was a 10x10 so they send you 2x4x8 and 2x4x2s..not 2x4 x10s as you would expect. Cheap materials that if you bought them yourself would cost about $300 or less at Home Depot, I guess the additional cost is to have stuff pre cut and shipped (1000 to 1300 depending on whether you get it on sale or not.) You better off just buying the stuff and doing it your self....NOTE once you get it delivered they wont take it backplus even if they did you would have to pay the freight...just being honest Ill run to the store to get the 2x4x10s to make sure it is what it should be and Im sure Ill need other stuff remember it doesnt come with any roofing or paint either....very disappointed! In all fairness they do call and ask you to let them know if you are missing anything or the like,,, November 22, 2009
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Value My fiance and I purchased this kit because we wanted to locate the shed in a place that made it difficult to have a pre-made one delivered. Neither of us have great carpentry skills but we were able to build this shed with relatively no trouble. The instructions were a little difficult to follow because there were no words, just pictures so it was sometimes hard to know exactly how to position some of the pieces. There was one spot that referred to a part that was not on the parts list but a quick call to the customer service line resolved the issue. We were missing a couple of pieces but replacement parts were sent within 2 days of requesting them. If you are unfamiliar with construction, it is helpful to read through the entire instruction booklet first to see how subsequent steps fit as you go along. Overall, we are very pleased with the finished product. It's a sturdy shed and will work very well for our needs. The price which included delivery was very reasonable for what you get. I would recommend this product. I would also recommend building the floor using 12 inches on center for the joists and 5/8 OSB if you are going to store anything heavy. October 23, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by storage building this is perfect for our needs, i own one and has great space October 13, 2006
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by jigsaw puzzle truck driver had to break up my package,to get it off the truck, now I have pieces everywhere, so shed is still in pieces, and how to make a 10*10 floor, when the floor package contains 8 ft wood, what a waste of time and money, not happy! September 30, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ten Foot Product in an Eight Foot Package I bought this kit and ended up replacing or supplementing almost everything in it. That's $1500+ thrown away. There are three main problems. 1) $1500 is much more than the price of the lumber contained in the kit. I'll build my second one from lumber purchased individually, and will be able to quantify the difference. My rough estimate is that I'll save 50% and end up with better lumber. 2) The kit for this 10X10 shed is shipped in 4x8 package. So, 2x4s that should be 10' are broken into 8' and 2' pieces. These are key structural members resulting in a weakened shed. 3) The side walls consist only of the 3/8 particle board paneling. Given that the studs are only on 24" centers, the result is a very weak wall that will deteriorate and leak in short order, especially since the roof only has about a 1" overhang. I recommend printing out the instructions provided on this web site and modifying the design to overcome these deficiencies yourself. The instructions are actually pretty good. They are the best part of the kit. December 9, 2007
