can seeds be used to plant your lawn? we do not have sod

we did not want to pay a gardner to put down sod, we wanted to know if the seeds will do the same job?
Asked by: Baby
Yes, seeding for a new lawn is a practical and economic approach. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when using seed vs sod 1. Seed takes much longer to establish itself compared to sod 2. Seed doesn’t always germinate evenly which means you may have to patch areas over and over again to get the desired result 3. Dependent on how thick your topsoil you may end up bringing in additional soil to amend the existing area New sod if installed properly gives you the instant gratification that most people are looking for. Seeding is an alternative that initially will require more care and keeping but if done correctly will work as well.
