Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mont Mechanism does not stay, animals escape
I bought this cage hoping to find a solution to some noises in my attic. I have had a very hard time making the trap to stay open, it just won't stay open it doesn't matter what I do!!! The trigger mechanism is very sensitive, just a small bump and immediately the door closes without touching the trigger. I finally was able to make this cage to stay open and found a big squirrel inside, when I went to get my globes, the squirrel was gone!! The spring was very weak to maintain the animal inside, even with mechanism that is supposed to lock the doors, but apparently it didn't work. I am hopping to return this item but I don't have the box.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rick Caught the squirrel
Had a problem with a pesky squirrel climbing the gutter downspout onto my roof and using it as a scratch pad. A peanutbutter/acorn bait entice the squirrel into the trap.
I would recommend buying the right size trap for your intended pest. The first day I set this out, I caught a possum. It was almost too large for the medium cage because when I tried to release it, it was still on the trigger plate so the door wouldn't open. I had to prod it with a stick to get it off the plate and it made for a tight squeeze in the back half of the cage. Wouldn't want to do that with a racoon or skunk.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by John does a great job with squirrels
Had problems with squirrels chewing through top porch deck. Have caught 4 in less than 2 weeks using this trap.
Peanut butter works great and trap works best if bait placed on top of trip plate.
Have included video of one being caught.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy This model does work.
I have tried two less expensive traps, one a Havahart and another from Harbor Freight. They both were similar in style. The two flaws I found in these were: The mechanics of the traps made it very easy to be tripped when the squirrels were climbing on and bumping the outside of the trap. So many times I would see the door was shut but no animal would be inside. When I did catch a squirrel in these traps, the squirrel would see me approaching and bang up against the door so hard it would defeat the door locking system and they would get out.
With this model I only open one door, throw the bait in the back and it works every time. I have yet to see it tripped without anything inside. When I approach the trap, the squirrels bang as hard as they can against the doors but the locks hold closed on this model.
I would but it again or recommend it. I have caught 17 squirrels in the last month.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Buck Works great!
I only open one end and use peanuts in fhe shell for bait and have relocated 5 squirrels. Wish I had the trap out before squirrels did $2,000 in damage to the wires in my engine compartment.
Don't forget to relocate your trapped animals miles away. I release mine in a big wooded park about 3 miles away.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Duders GREAT FOR RATS...AND EVEN A POSSUM
Had what I thought was a rat in the crawl space so had been setting a Victor rat trap for a few days with no luck and then tried rat poison with no luck. Decided to try this live trap and set the trap under the house in the afternoon. Next morning, looked in crawl space and saw a huge possum sitting stuck in the closed trap!! Yahoo. Next morning was the rat I wanted. LOL Worked like a charm and now I don't hear the noise coming up through the flooring.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stingman Successful in trapping squirrel in attic!!
The key is the easy-set feature, which makes the release mechanism much more sensitive and more successful than the traditional 2-door Havahart trap of the same size. In the old trap, the squirrel would take the bait and run away. This model caught him on his first attempt. One word of advice, though: be patient. The trap only works as fast as the squirrel. Once the holes in my attic were repaired & closed off, my recalcitrant squirrel still took 3 days to take the bait. (March in Charlotte, NC)

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Desperate Medium 2 door easy set live animal trap
So far it hasn't caught anything. Put baits in and something took the baits. Not sensitive enough. Easy to set but doesn't close easily
