Product Overview

Protect your yard from nuisance animals 24/7 with the Havahart Spray Away Motion Activated Sprinkler. Spray Away uses only water and noise to effectively and instantly repel animals that enter your garden, yard and pond area. Spray Away works by detecting an animal's heat and movement with its infrared sensor. Once the unit senses the animal in its path it releases a short and startling burst of water to scare the animal off your property. This motion activated sprinkler will defend up to 1,900 sq. ft. with no harmful chemicals. The exclusive Adjustable Sensor Eye coupled with nine different sensitivity settings makes Spray Away the most innovative animal repellent sprinkler on the market. Just point the Adjustable Sensor Eye up or down to sense the animal. Choose from nine sensitivity settings to target your specific animal and distance. Havahart has also made Spray Away easy to place in your yard with its Step-in stake design. Simply, step down into the foot stirrup and easily insert the stake in your desired area. Unlike other motion activated sprinkler that leak water; Spray Away was designed with leak free engineering in mind. Spray Away has only one hose connection directly on the body of the unit to prevent leaking. Its smart warning system, Spray Away's LED indicator light will flash when it senses movement, and to alert you when batteries are running low so there's time to replace them and ensure your yard will never be unprotected.

  • Dual protection settings 9 sensitivity settings plus custom sight settings
  • Exclusive adjustable sensor eye adjusts to any size animal and any terrain

I am very pleased with the unit with keeping deer away but if you have a dog that loves water like a retriever, it may take the opportunity to come and play and get a drink like my neighbor buddy does sometimes. Which I do not mind at all. Read Less

You can not turn it off. In fact, it is hooked up to your garden hose which will have to be turned on for this to work.

Answer:
Turn off the hose, then activate it 3 or 4 times by moving your hand across the sensor. That empties the water and pressure that is already in the hose. Standing behind it when you do this is a good idea.

The unit itself does not have a on/off switch, we apologize for any inconvenience. If possible, turning the water source off at the beginning of the hose would allow you to walk up to the unit without activating it.

Answer:
I would think it requires pressure from a spigot system. Otherwise, the spray force could be too low.

Answer:
I can only assume it would need the pressure. You can buy a pump, used in fish ponds, to create pressure for the rain barrel. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful than that. You can also purchase it and if it doesn't work, return it back to the store.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by would not recommend...leaks and comes off This product itself is great when it works, but designed really poorly..have bought two and the same problem...the part that attatched to the hose is constantly comeing off and water all over the place. luckily we have been home and up..We then desided to glue it...and you guessed it, last a few weeks and then a small flood near our house..the hose came apart from the sprayer..I would tell people if they want a water flood in there garden or near their house, buy it...The design should be different..the water attatchement at the top..then gravity would be the one thing against it..the pressure just shoves it off.. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hasn't stopped the deer from eating my Fatsia I placed it in the front/center of 5 Fatsia Japonica. The deer have been ravaging the one farthest to the right (about 5 feet away). Yesterday, I saw that that Fatsia had been trimmed severely again. Maybe the deer habituate to the spray and sound and eventually learn that other than getting a bit wet, the consequences of continuing on to their meal aren't that bad. Disappointing, but not that surprising. Deer learn like any other animal, especially when it comes to food. I'll move it closer to their favorite Fatsia and see what happens. May 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by awesom product This has worked like a charm to keep a stray cat from my yard. It took just a few sprays for the cat not to come back. The quality is good and would recommend. June 2, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by It's just OK, not great for small animals Doesn't work that well. Missing a key design. They need a universal joint adjustment so you can adjust the angle of the head better. Doesn't work on small animals such as skunks and raccoons. They are so low to the ground that the sensor does not pick up on them when they are farther away. If they had a better angle adjustment then it might work but honestly it was a waste of money and water. My lawn got torn up by the skunks looking for grubs both with it and without out it so it was't much of a deterrent. Also, their design with the battery case isn't that water proof. It may work on bigger animals really well. My mailman and delivery people can contest to that. But the smaller ones, I think you will have some challenges similar to what I experienced. May 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Safe for garden non lethal to wildlife Last year I planted hundreds of dollars of plants and shrubs and herbs that were killed or eaten by the stray cats and squirrels. This product has changed the outcome for my flower garden and shade garden. Nothing gets by this product. It works even better than I imagined. Best of all the animals are not injured and my garden is safe. I really enjoy watching how well it works. May 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Saved my garden We have always had deer using our garden like a salad bar. This year my frustration hit a high when they ate my lilies just before they bloomed. My plan was a motion detector connected to a high voltage cable but my girlfriend said no. Then I saw this little combo. The deer visits immediately stopped and my tomato plants are growing huge and giving wonderful fruit. The price is steep but it still uses the original batteries I installed and is easy to use. Now the cat is not happy with the new backyard addition. August 26, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible hose connector While the sensor is adequate the hose connector is the worst I have ever seen. The connector is apparently designed so the user can not strip the threads. Consequently when tightened even a little, the connector pops off of the hose and if not tightened it will leak like crazy. There is a very fine line where it can be tightened sufficiently to not leak yet still stay connected. If you like to be frustrated you will absolutely love this sprinkler. April 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Really cool idea! This is a nifty little tool for scaring away animals (in my case overly-aggressive deer). I love how its configurable in that you can set whether you want to to use water or noise. Seems to work well enough without being an annoyance. Kind of a like a digital scarecrow. Has worked somewhat but I'll admit the deer in my area are very brave and don't seem to be deterred by much. March 10, 2016
