Answer:
Unkown. I would not have purchased this type of hinge if the door could open to more than 90 *; it does work perfect for 90* though.

My doorknobs are all stainless steel. Replacing all of the doorknobs to match the hinges would be expensive.

My husband has balance issues and peripheral neuropathy and while I'd like to make it easier for him to fit through our doorways with his rollator, I don't dare use these if the door opening and closing is awkward compared to 80 years of muscle memory. Thanks.

Answer:
Hello, thank you for your question. With these hinges, when the door is opened, there will be some extra movement of the door coming out, or towards you. It is not necessarily more difficult to open the door, but there is an extra step required when closing the door. I hope this helps. You can contact our Customer Service team at 1.800.247.2343 for more information. Sincerely, HealthSmart.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great door hinge It was not easy to install these hinges. The door had to be removed for removal of the old hinges, in order to intstall the new ones. Once the new hinges were installed, the door would not close properly. The new hinges had to be removed and re-installed to get the door to work correctly. It did require using more than one tool as listed when the hinges were purchased. Now that everything is working properly the door works much better than before. I would like to recommend that anyone who is goiing to do this kind of hinge replacement to plan on hours to do the job correctly. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect For Wheelchairs Didn't know these were available until after 6 years of having two interior doors remain off their hinges so a wheelchair could go through the doorway unimpeded. Now, without having to make any modifications, the doors can remain on and a wheelchair chair pass through with ease. Easy to install, with minor adjustment to the door jam. August 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Offset hinges four wheel chair The hinges were reasonably priced and work great. However, why do they only include two together August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works fine Does as advertised. I had to make my hinge mortises a little deeper for these hinges to make door close, asthese hinges are a little thicker. No problem, though. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works perfectly even with a door handle that sticks out. the hinges were easy to install after filling the old holes with dowels and glue to make a stable base. they open the door enough that my walker does not scratch the door frame now. I bought more for the other doors. June 1, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good product The use of this hinge saved the cost of a major renovation that would have cost at least $1,000.00, and saved a great deal of work and mess. An excellent remedy for my problem. January 12, 2016
