I have a very limited space to create a kitchen in a studio Bungalow (5 feet) in which I must fit a sink, 20" stove, and hopefully your 15" drawers. So I cannot use the 30" sink base unit. Even using this 24" base will only give me an inch of play.

Answer:
I put granite on the ones I installed and they held it just fine. I put two 24" cabinets together with a 3/4" thick granite top and they are sturdy enough for this.

Answer:
This cabinet is strong enough to handle the 44lb granite top or any other type material you might want to use for your counter surface. Just make sure when you are building the cabinet, that all the edges and joints are tight and the cabinet is level and square upon completion.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Quality and Appearance I chose this cabinet because of budget and need. I wanted the most storage space for the least price, and this line of cabinets were a happy surprise. They have a pleasing appearance, full size shelves, and can be dressed up or down depending on knob/pull choice. Since this was basically a storage unit for a studio room, I chose a simple knob, but anything can be used. The build quality and materials are on a par with other cabinets I've used in the past, and the fasteners are a screw-stud/draw nut/ dowel construction. Fit and finish are good quality. The only headache I had was due to packaging: all the cabinets I bought (4) had the upper rear sides broken in the area where the cabinet back panel (glorified cardboard) channel starts. This is hidden from view because it is on the inner part of the side panel (and wouldn't be seen once the countertop is installed), but even for budget cabinets I don't think I needed to clamp and glue an extra step to repair concealed damage. Otherwise, I'm happy with this cabinet and feel I got a great value for the price. August 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by a good buy These are nice light duty cabinets. Not intended for heavy use. The finish will scrape of scuff easily. I installed mine in a laundry room and put a granite counter on them. They are more than sturdy enough to handle the weight. they do "mark up" kind of easy. March 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy build, great value This cabinet is easy to assemble and is a great value for the cost compared to already assembled cabinets. Great appearance when built, looks like a pre-assembled unit. Well worth the time to build for the cost savings. February 11, 2014
