Customer Questions & Answers

How many shelfs are in the cabinets?

Asked by: Bob
The Hartland base cabinets that I purchased and installed had one shelf.

Does it have a back panel and what color is the toe kick area?

The specs indicate it does not come with a toe kick. Do I have to purchase this separately? This will be a stand alone cabinet.
Asked by: Bob
Hi rlnlee Thank you for your interest in our units. This unit does have a back panel. The panel is light brownish like the color of cardboard. The Toe kick area is white like the unit. I hope this helps. This is a very nice unit and think you would really enjoy having it. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Customer Reviews

Ready to Assemble 24x34.5x24.3 in. Base Cabinet with 1 Door and 1 Drawer in White is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good enough for what I needed, but would not recommend for pro's The cabinet itself is ok, however there were a lot of pre drilled holes that were not lined up correctly. So the edges are not flush, and the drawer does not close properly because of this. Also had a hard time getting the back panel in for the same reason. I have assembled many different cabinets, tv stands, dressers, and other furniture, and this was probably the worst for the misalignment of the holes. It is good enough for what I needed it for, but would not recommend for a really good quality and good appearance bathroom / kitchen cabinet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The good and the bad I ordered two of these. They arrived Friday afternoon and I assembled and installed this weekend. The good: I didn't have to paint the cabinets The correct size and style The cabinets arrived at my doorstep quickly (ahead of stated delivery date; UPS) UPS delivered the boxes in good shape No only did the cabinets arrive with the hardware, they arrived with spare items The instructions are pretty good and pictures mostly matched the physical items Anyone somewhat handy and patient should be able to knock out this project The bad: For one of the two cabinets... the packing material (Styrofoam) looked like it had been in a blender and the corner (a sizable chunk) of one of the cabinet sides was broken / busted / cracked. I determined that the "bad" corner could be hidden against a wall and I moved ahead. I'd read the reviews and knew I had to be very careful with assembly... despite my caution I still had a couple of areas where the "wood" split during assembly. It was like there wasn't enough wood, glue, wood+glue, pressure during manufacture, or something... the areas that split looked less dense (or at least different) and weak The verdict: They assembled quickly and I didn't have to paint them. I was hoping for a better product, but was prepared for what was in the box Depending on the application I may or may not buy this (or a similar product) again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of Junk, Poorly made This cabinet is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased. It is made of the absolutely cheapest materials available. It is by far the bottom of the line. The drawers are terrible, it is not square, the backing is like cardboard and does not fit correctly. Bottom line: I would not want one for FREE, it is pure junk. Buy the ones in the store that are pre-assembled, they are much higher quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Put Together, Well engineered. I needed to expand my craft room and wanted to add a shipping station. My husband and I looked in the store itself and they did not carry it but I did see it online so I decided to order it online. I ended up ordering 2 of them to do what I needed to do. After we got them assembled, which went fairly quickly, and put them in place, I discovered there was a ding on a corner of one of the side panels. Not a big deal since it does not show since it is near the back in the corner. Other than that ding, these are great cabinets, well engineered and stable. I wanted to add a drawer between the 2 cabinets since we set them 18" apart and I was able to call the manufacturer and find out how I could just get the drawer front to match. They had me come back to the Home Depot web site to get the model number for the 18" wide drawer top base cabinet. A week later I had the drawer front. I already had the other materials needed to make the center drawer from other projects we had done so I just needed the drawer front. The finish on these cabinets is very smooth just like pre-assembled cabinets. Overall a great value and if you are a do it yourself type of person, these are easy to work with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from RTA CABINET Easy to assemble and looks good. Door and drawer front are good quality. The back is some kind of laminated cardboard which is not a big deal but the drawer bottom is made of the same stuff and it is very flimsy. Took the bottom to a Home Depot store and the lumber lady fixed me up with a piece of wood that was the same thickness. Cost $5.67 Well worth it to keep the drawer from buckling..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value I put four of these base cabinets and four matching 24" wall cabinets in my garage. Very well made, great instructions. Good quality product, well packaged and relatively easy to assemble. I had no parts shortages, and it all worked as expected. Finish is very good. These are heavy duty RTA cabinets. Inexpensive, but not cheaply made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My purchase was what I expected The cabinets take a bit of time to assemble but they seemed to come together okay

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad for the price...but not all that great either. I bought two of these cabinets. One with a drawer and one without. You get what you pay for. It's an inexpensive cabinet that you have to put together yourself. I'm pretty experienced at assembling furniture, so I was not intimidated by that. The instructions were pretty easy and concise. However, the materials themselves are pretty flimsy, so you have to be careful. At one point, I could not get one of the wooden pegs into the hole (the peg was slightly larger than the hole), so I lightly tapped it with a hammer. The peg then went all the way through the hole and almost out the other side. I say almost because the veneer managed to stop it. If I had tapped just a little harder, it would have went all the way through. My biggest complaint was the condition of the cabinet pieces once I unpacked them. There was damage on two corners and one side actually had a long splinter of cabinet missing. Luckily, the damage all was to the back side of the cabinet, so once installed, it did not show. The damage was NOT the result of shipping. The box was packed with Styrofoam and was quite sturdy. The damage was done before packing and shipping. I realize these are not expensive cabinets, however I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to have undamaged merchandise. The quality control BEFORE shipping is very poor. Whoever packed that box had to see the pieces were damaged, yet they shipped them out anyway. I watch "How It's Made" all the time. I've seen quality control pull broken M&Ms out of the line before packaging. If someone can spot a damaged M&M, then why can't a damaged cabinet be noticed?? On the whole, I would recommend this cabinet to someone else with the following caveats: 1. You have to assemble it yourself and you need to be very careful when doing so. Take your time. The material is flimsy and can't handle a lot of manhandling. 2. Inspect it carefully for damage. The odds are, you're going to find some. But if I had to do it again, I'd buy preassembled at the store so I can inspect for damage before buying.
