Customer Questions & Answers

Do I need electricity to operate?

I would use this in case of power failure - can it be used in that situation.

Customer Reviews

40,000 BTU Forced-Air Propane Portable Heater is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from My shop was never warmer I have a large shop/two-car garage with a high, open ceiling and needed something that could heat the work space without initially costing me much nor expensive to operate and also safe. Each time I've used this heater I've had to turn it off because it warmed my shop quickly. This was while the setting was on 'low'. This heater is very easy to set up and use and seems to be well-designed and of high enough quality to last a very long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sometimes difficult to start, overall good value Overall a very good value and works very well. Heats up my oversize two car garage very quickly. Sometimes difficult to get started and sometimes fires up on first try. Noisy as are any of this type of heater but not too bad. I'm satisfied with it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great way to warm the chill Like the adjustable heat. Can take a few minutes to stay lit when it's colder than 15*. Fairly quiet, I usually have plugs in so I don't really notice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Spend a little more to get more Hey, it works, does an ok job. If you want just OK, go for it. Hindsight now I wish I would have spent more and gotten one with more BTUs. Living in MN when temps get to -10 to -20 or worse, more heat is better. If you live in a warmer climate, it should work just fine but in MN, get a stronger unit. Also, when it is that cold, the control knob does not turn easily and feels like it could snap off. Store in a warm area to avoid breaking it. Lit easily, wishing it had the ability to point a little lower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HeatStream 40K propane heater I bought this heater to warm up the workroom and the basement during the winter months in Ohio. This heater is easy to use and to startup. The basement temp. is around 45-50 degreases, and this heater warms the room in about 10 minutes and it's comfortable enough to work in a t-shirt. Works better than my kerosene heater.
