Answer:
They may work if you get a bigger one. The one that I purchased is somewhat small.

It depends on the type of vent, as long as it is metal it should work.

I am going to sound stupid here, but these deflectors only seem to point down. Can someone explain how you adjust it for cooling?

Answer:
You point the deflector up by pointing the deflector toward the ceiling. The magnets are the controlling element. Magnets are placed at the base of where you want them to be pointed.
Say you want the magnet to go upward you place the magnets at the base of the vent if you want them to pointed downward you put the magnets at the top end of the vent cover.

Answer:
It depends if you have a floor register or a wall register. If it's on the floor, there is no adjustment. if it is a wall register, up for cold air and down for warm air.

Will these air deflectors be moved by having a Roomba/Neato robot vacuum hit them while cleaning?

This question is from Heat and Air Deflector
Asked by

July 10, 2016
I have air vents in the floor on the second floor of my townhouse that I would like to use these on. I have robot vacuums clean both floors of my home. Does anyone know if these are Roomba/Neato friendly (i.e., they won't cause the vacuum to get stuck and/or won't get removed from the vent if they're bumped into). If the vacuum does cause them to move, has anyone found any solutions to that (3M command strips?)
Thanks for the help.

Answer:
We have never tested these for remote vacuum cleaners hitting them, so we cannot say if they would get knocked off the vent.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Over Here Directs air as intended. Perfect location as a table sits directly over the vent. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OUTSTANDING These work outstanding by directing the air into the lower part of room instead of straight up and going to celling. Has cut our electric bill in Phoenix Summers. These are labeled unbreakable and have accidently kicked a couple of times not a scratch. June 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It works!! It works as it describes! This product is adjustable and may fit in any vent. December 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Melted in 10 minutes I attached it to the wall heating vent in my apartment to direct hot air away from my couch. It lasted about 10 minutes before warping and coming apart. Pretty bad idea to make a heat deflector out of a plastic that can't handle much heat... February 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by These simple items work! A total no-brainer for floor vents and the magnets really stick. if your house is loaded with windows that have floor vents right under them (????) these are a simple fix. January 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PERFECT I purchased a older home and well the vents are in the floor as most are on older homes. With this you have the pain of trying to put furniture and worry about it covering up the vent. When i found the great price and quality of these i ordered as many as i needed instantly! Since then i have rearranged my rooms and it has been great!!!!!!!!!!! They are great quality and the magnets are very strong (one even lifted my vent out of the hole when i was moving it to vacuum!) Also with this i have found our house get so much colder now it actually puts the air into the room more! July 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best ever shield I like what the product represents, but I think the shield be made of a thicker substance. When you put it on your vent it is somewhat flimsy. June 9, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Thin Plastic Started to Melt on My Registers Somebody must have fudged a heat test because the deflector began to melt and become mis-shapened after only only a few minutes attached to my vent register. The air was quite warm but I would have thought that these deflectors would be designed to stand at least that much heat coming out of the vent. Cheap quality. January 19, 2015
